Drakengard 3 (known in Japan as Drag-On Dragoon 3) was released in Japan back in December of last year and Square Enix have just recently announced the European release date - May 21.

Judging by the PEGI 18 rating I think it is safe to assume the game will receive either minimal or no censorship at all, which would be nice.

Secondly, at the end it states that only English audio will be available, which most likely means there will be no dual audio. Which is a shame because from what I've heard the Japanese voices sound much better.

UPDATE: The North American version has also been given a release date, May 20, and will have a collector's edition.

This looks awesome and terrible at the same time I may have to keep my eye on it. What sort of games are these anyway sorta like action RPGs?

Trouble is with it being digital download I wont have enough space on the HDD so will have to buy another if I want to play it as I cant really delete much more stuff (or rather theres not much more I want to delete).

Both the first two had M ratings in the US and received toned-down versioning. While I know Drakengard got PEGI 16, I havetrouble believing they're going to release radically different versions.

They're basically action RPGs and past games have been very similar to Dynasty Warriors. Also in common with the DW series are it's large maps and variety of enemy soldier types. There were bosses and other things thrown into the mix but those were mostly fought from the back of your dragon, whom you could call down during most fights. Drakengard 2 was a bit more linear in terms of its level designed, but it brought them more focus and was a better game as a result.

From what I can tell, the gameplay of this trailer seems pretty different from the other games. It looks like it has more in common with Devil May Cry, so who knows how the RPG elements will present themselves or how often you'll get to use the dragon. I loved the first two games, for some reason that I can't put my finger on, so I'm pretty jazzed to see a new one.

I think that North America is at least getting a physical version of the game so I might buy it outright. If it's digital only for us too, I might hold off.

Well PS3's are region free if you wanted to import it.

It looks really good so I'm probably going to pick it up. However I'm not sure if it looks full price good so I'll wait to see what the initial reaction is.

I REALLY hope this has the story of 1 and the game play improvements of 2.
