Who here has had to stop a friend or family member from driving whilst intoxicated? Luckily everybody I get lifts from keep drinking away from driving.

I know someone who was drink driving, and recently broke his back. He nearly died. Fortunately, I've never had to stop someone from drink driving.

I got a text from a friends girlfriend telling me that my friend had shouted at her because he's mean (read: She was being a whiny little *****) and she'd driven home drunk.

Sufficed to say, She tried for sympathy, And she soon learned this:

WAS A BAD MOVE.

Had to keep a drunk girl I'd never met from leaving our house after a party last year. Took her keys from her after some coaxing but at some point we had to block the door to keep her from running out.

Drink driving is a widely-recognised term, fellow Grammar Nazi. There are worse crimes against the English language for you to fight against, so let's let this one slide, okay?

OT: Drink driving is a stupid idea. That's all that needs to be said, really. Alcohol and automobiles are a good combination in the sense that sky-diving and open-heart surgery are a good combination. Finland's policy on drink-driving makes a lot of sense to me: If you are found to have imbibed any alcohol shortly before driving, you will be arrested. There's no pussyfooting around with "legal blood alcohol limits", just a hard-and-fast rule that stops people from getting themselves killed. I live in Ireland, where the amount of drink-driving-related deaths is rather worrying.

I had the frightening realisation a while back that I will be the designated driver for the rest of my life. It kinda sucks, but it's my decision.

I've never had to stop someone but someone at my old college after a month of passing his driving lisence was caught driving under the influence when he wrapped his car around a statue in the middle of a roundabout.

My dumbass twin sister got a dui at the age of 17 earlier this summer, thus giving me my own car.
However, she also stole $850 from me, and if it wasn't for my mom's calling our bank before me, I would have tried to get her put in jail.

Wow, that sounds pretty extreme. I thought I had it bad with my sister...

My best friend died in a car crash, thanks to his mother who was always pissed off her rocket.

She survived, and now is mental, he died, and is now gone.

I haven't known any Drink Drivers after her, and I couldn't stop her, she just went out to the shops.

It's cool man, I wasn't mocking you or anything. I'm quite a stickler for grammar and spelling too, so it was a jibe I meant entirely in jest. I do hope I haven't insulted you.

Yeah she's pretty stupid. She's not going to go to college (probably) because my mom won't help her get loans or anything.

I have been in a few cars with intoxicated drivers of some sort or another.
I however am a very irresponsible person, when drunk ten times more so.

Nothing has happened yet though, except running two red lights then pulling over and trying to work out if we did or not for about 20 minutes.
