I haven't gotten a new DS game that wasn't pokemon since Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, so I could use some good games for an upcoming vacation. Any good ones? I like almost all games, but a good story is important, it doesn't have to be a Greek epic in pixel form, but the story needs to be well fleshed out. Pokemon has an insanely simple story, but it works well with the game, the same goes for harvest moon, Zelda, and Digimon World Dusk/Dawn/Ds. The only games I don't want suggestions for are fps, rhythm games, and puzzle heavy games like Pheonix Wright, I just can't seem to enjoy them.

EDIT- My DS games

Avalon Code, all Pokemon, all Digimon, all Harvest Moon, all Yu-Gi-Oh, Contact, Mario Hoops 3-on-3, all Zelda, Mario & Luigi PiT and BIS, Viva Pinata, Lost in Blue 1/2, Dragon Quest Rocket Slime, and this morning I got Dragon Quest IX.

Animal Crossing is a blast, and so is Chrono Trigger DS.

If you don't have Pokemon Black/White, you could get that...

I don't have way too many games, but those are all fun choices.

I like how about 2/3 of the replies obviously didn't read the entire first post... That being said, Disgea received a port to the ds, so if you like TBS, there's that, as well as advance wars, fire emblem, and final fantasy tactics. Is it safe to assume you're using a DSi? You didn't ask for gba games, so i'm guessing your system doesn't have a slot. If you do have a gba slot, get Rock'n roll racing. I loved the hell out'a that game on the snes, plus, apparently it was manufactured by Blizzard.
More to come if i come up with more.

Hey, I just bought a DS Lite too (for $50 in perfect condition. Thank you 3DS for driving those prices WAY down!). I don't even know many games I want for it, but it was so cheap...

This is my list so far:
-Professor Layton
-Super Scribblenauts
-Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
-The World Ends With You
-Chrono Trigger
-Phoenix Wright
-Okamiden
-Pokemon White

I may get Spirit Tracks. I hated Phantom Hourglass, but I don't like the fact that there is a Zelda game that I haven't played.

Seriously, though. Now is the time us cheapskates to buy a DS.

The World Ends With You - For all your generic emo character and hipster trend JRPG stories!

I would definitely recommend Elite Beat Agents; it's very easily replayable even when you've beaten all four difficulty levels. Also, Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 is very intense. I might recommend the first, except it's much much harder.
