First impressions
After staying up all night to play Duke Nukem as soon as it was released here in Aus (Midnight release also unsure if it has been released elsewhere aswell) I am extremely happy to say that after 2 hours of solid gameplay, so far it has been amazing. The demo for first access members doesnt even come close to the full game, during the demo I found myself very bored throughout the second level and began to doubt my pre-purchase. After playing the full game though the gameplay feels much more fluent, there is a constant stream of one liners that are hulerious and although the graphics do feel a little bit dated they are in no way anything noticable while playing. So far I have found one bug where I got stuck in the wall and had to reload the last checkpoint but apart from that it has been very bug free.
Pros -
Addicting gameplay
Very emmersive
(half) return to old school shooters
Extremely funny
Cons -
2 weapon limit (feels out of place when there is such a wide variety of guns.)
Average graphics
Overall I must say I am very impressed after begining the game half heartedly and expecting a let down especially since the demo was so dissapointing. Now I am going to bed because it is 3 am here and I am exaughsted.
