Have you ever felt things were going good, only to be left behind one day? Tell me your cringe-worthy stories of relationship woe.

Personally, I've never been the one to end a relationship, and I've almost never been dumped anywhere but online. Seriously, is leaving someone online the new norm?

Nah, it's just easier, no matter how cowardly it is. Usually I'm the one to say enough is enough, I know when I can't work at a relationship any more.

My ex broke up with me over a text message.

:p

I found it strangely amusing.

Never been on either end of it due to (insert "BAWWWW CAN'T GET GIRLFRIEND" story here), but I've been the shoulder to cry on for a few instances of this. I think I'm getting quite good at it, if I do say so myself.

Been there for the end of about two or three insta-dump relationships. One of them was between two people that were both my friends. Guy dumped her by emailing her using my PS3.
Still feel that made it a little my fault they broke up.

Oh, please. That has been a leading phenomenom in youth culture ever since there WAS youth culture. Don't pull the 'the world is going to shit' card on me, it's been shit all along.

Anyway, never been dumped. Rejected I have been though. Which is probably even sadder, but not as shit a feeling, I presume. Don't know how to help.

Yeah and it sickens me. It's also costing the NHS (and thus me) a huge amount of money each year in STD treatment because these fucking little whores (I mean that as a slight against both the boys and girls) don't understand self-control.

Untrue, between the end of the renaissance to the start of the 1960's chastity was the norm. Now I'm not arguing that this situation is good either because it was largely due to religious and social oppression, but neither situation is great.

I've been dumped sure.

My wife told me she wanted to "Live life, have fun, and see other people." she decided to tell me this three days before my birthday. We were together for six years.

I mean, at least she told me face to face.

You're not.

And I'm usually the one to end things, because I have serious problems with committing to anything or anyone, and tend to back out as soon as I begin to lose interest. I can justify this by telling myself that it'd be worse to not say something. It doesn't often work, though.

Where to begin? I have horrid luck in this area. Well I was dumped once via a dear john letter and then she hooked up with my (at the time)best friend who had left his girlfriend (her best friend) for her. On the same day. That was NOT a fun day.

I have done some stupid things in my time though since then such as despite being head over heels for this one girl I ended up helping get her and her ex back together ruining any slim chance I had and effectively ending that friendship. I like to think of it as a preemptive dumping as it got rid of all the relationship part and went straight to the whats now one :p

I broke up with my girlfriend of two years because I could tell she had feelings for her friend, and I didn't want anyone to end up getting more hurt than necessary. She assured me for about a month beforehand that she didn't have any feelings for him in the slightest, but two weeks after we broke up they were together and having sex.

Needless to say, I haven't talked to her since.
Nice way to hand it. No sarcasm at all. I ended it with my gf for the same reason once, but it was never confirmed. I was dating a girl and her friend was dating a guy I knew. She would tell me she hung out with him and a bunch of people, and the next week it was him and one other, and then she told me it was just her and him.

They spent TONS of time togetether and often bailed on me and my ex's friend to hang togehter. I said enough and ended it one night.

The only reason I'm ususally the dumper is because the girls I've dated have had nasty habits of going behind my back and fooling about with other men

I've only had one girl tell me digitally that we were done. So, being the type of person I am, I didn't answer or confrim her dozen or so attempts to get ahold of me... through texting and myspace.... to make it so. Then about a week later I saw her at some bar with another dude, being all cozy. I walked up to her and then dumped her right in front of him. She wasn't amused.
