Dungeons and Dragons online going free but is it still worth it?

Currently I am a world of warcraft user but i am getting tired of all the bull and endless hours that go into leveling up 1 character i want something new. My friends told me that dungeons and dragons online was ok but know that its going to be free is it still worth getting the game because free mmorpg's usually have a reputation of sucking.
