dynasty warriors 7 impressed me

having recently finished the story mode dynasty warriors 7 i could say that it was the most fun I had in a dw game for a long while (dw6 annoyed me and strike force was "meh"), I actually paid more attention to the story (as opposed to "I SMASH ENEMY!") and felt a bit sad when someone died and stuff

I used to like Dynasty Warriors (anyone else accidently call it die nasty warriors?) back with 2 and then 3, but I felt cheated with 4, then when i borrowed 5 off my mate I had decided enough is enough these games had just got bad. I played his 'empires' game too later, again terrible.

So you saying you actually enjoyed it has got my attention, if it's true theirs a small potential of me being a happy bunny

I also enjoy DW7 and am in the process of playing it. I like the removal of levels and weapons with random stats for better customization. You can now wield two different kinds of weapons and switch between them and generally every character can use almost every weapon. It depends on the character how well he can wield it however.
You can switch out your weapons and use skill points on differnt skills at all time.

In storymode you choose a side and have to switch between different characters a lot.

DW5 was my favourite (changing directions whilst attacking!? Brilliant!). DW6 let me down, hopefully 7 will be aweosme!

People have been saying recently that 7 is a serious improvement. I thought it was going downhill since 3, but people have said that since it's gone past the Wu Zhang Plains in the story, it's gotten more interesting.

I'm gonna check it out.

DW 6 let everyone down! I really was upset by it. 7 however, is pretty awesome! And looks a ton better. Really enjoying it - especially going back to the original weapons - Sun Ce should always have tonfa. Upset that Cao Ren doesn't have his shield though...

I really loved the story mode in 7, conquest mode not so much, but I have enjoyed the game far more than 6 (and empires) and 5 (and extreme legends/empires).

Felt a lot more attached to character, only negative point is it's really difficult to unlock everything and level up most characters.

Same Here, I might consider getting it now. Are they still doing that annoying 'Empires' thing.

Same Here, I might consider getting it now. Are they still doing that annoying 'Empires' thing.

seeing as there's been a "empires" pack from 4-6 its likely they will do one
hopefully the will just do some interesting DLC and be done with it

Huge Dynasty Warriors fan here, I've played it since 3, including a few Empires games and someof the spin-offs.
I have to admit that it got a bit stale eventually, since the series wasn't really updated at all.
The worst was probably 6, which had some new things implemented, but sucked ass pretty much.

So I kinda gave up on the series, until I read up on DW7. And I liked what they changed, so I gave the series a shot again.
and I was right, it was a fresh wind and a joy to play!
Story-oriented, epic battles. Fun characters and Conquest Mode is just great.

In other words, I'm still playing it right now and enjoying it thoroughly.

I liked it. My only complaint is that you only use some characters for a brief period in the story modes. It makes sense storyline wise just seems like too much of a change. I may play it a bit tonight now that I think about it.

that's my problem aswell
there a handfull of charaters that you dond get to play in story mode
hell, guan ping gets killed offscreen!

I haven't touched a DW game since 4 I really wanna play DW7 because it looks like they brought all their old weapons and character designs as well.

Lol i'm the exact same. A friend had Dynasty Warriors 2 on ps2 and I was like 'THIS IS AMAZING' so I bought it. Then I got 3 and my friends would all come over and we'd play co-op on that of Time Crisis 2. Then I got 4 and still had great fun with it. I wanted to get Empires because it looks really good but I never did. I played 5 or 6 a couple of years ago because a friend had it on ps3 and it was crap compared.


So I do hope Koei did something good with this. They killed the format of Kessen after the original which was amazing too.
