After almost 2 months Koei has revealed a new batch of characters for Dynasty warriors 9, including one new playable character.
Before we get to that, a few weeks ago Koei released a trailer for DW9, which basically just shows a bunch of earlier information in action.
And now on to the characters.
First up we have the newcomer to the series - Man Chong (172-242). Famous Wei strategist who was known for his defensive skills, particularly for successfully defending Fan Castle from Guan Yu, repelling Wu invasions at He Fei and the construction of He Fei Castle, and Shu's later Northern invasions.
His weapon appears to be some kind of folding/shooting-spear.

Next up is the man among men himself, Lu Bu.
Then we have the tomboy Wu princess, Sun Shang Xiang.
And finally, Wu prodigy Lu Xun, who seems to have finally found the hat he misplaced after DW5.
These are all scans, but the proper HQ renders are expected to be released soon.
It has also been revealed that various animals will be spread around the map, as well as supply convoys and such which can be attacked to affect upcoming battles. You will also be able to complete siege battles in multiple ways, including a full on frontal assault with battering rams, or sneaking over the walls.
