Look, I've played EA games. They're not horrible, although they have been mashed through the jaws of corporate interests. But recently, EA is going off the leash, attacking it's own customers.

Incidents such as prohibiting people from playing their LEGALLY bought games if they misbehave on their forums, as well as locking the accounts (and the games, effectively cutting off access to the games) of people who haven't done a damned thing wrong (the recent case of a man named Aaron who was banned because someone else swore in the forums while also mentioning Aaron's username).

This has gone on too long.

Either EA stops their abhorrent, and possibly illegal, practices, or we stop buying their games.

I, Fuhjem, am pledging henceforth to never buy a single game that EA has at any point put their hands on.

That means no Mass Effect 3 for me (and as anyone who knows me knows, I am a diehard fan of the ME series), no Battlefield 3, no Star Wars: The Old Republic, nothing EA is putting their filthy hands on.

I'm going to do my part to call to attention the extreme amount of bullshit that EA is doing to their very own customers, the very people who let them exist.

If you believe as I do, let the world know and post here. Maybe we can have a petition put up, telling EA to cut this bullcrap.

Thanks for your time.

I'd love to. Except for one, EA wouldn't care. It's a mega corporation, it doesn't need to listen to fans or ex-fans. Just usual day business for EA.

Also, I can't do without my Mass Effect 3. I must have. xD And TOR looks good too.

If EA games stop being bought, then they may have to reconsider.

If you absolutely must buy ME3, wait a few days for it to be pre-owned at gamestop. That way, EA receives none of the profits.

I applaud your initiate, even though I think it will fall on deaf ears.

And I am sorry to say that I will also be getting ME3, I just need to confirm how things end.

Then continue to be fucked by EA.
I'm not making anyone stop.
I'm just asking so that EA may stop and listen for once.

Nah.

I don't like EA either, but not to the point where I'm going to deny myself a good game. At the end of the day, nothing is gonna stand between me and my Mass Effect fix.

Of course, you console folks have the option of buying used. You get the game legally, EA doesn't get your money. Best of both worlds.

If everyone waited for pre-owned, there would never be a pre-owned game on the shelf.
There will always be games bought new. I don't think everyone will actually participate in the boycott. Just hopefully enough to cut down on EA's profits to the point where they realize that they've fucked up.

I will continue to buy EA games new, and I will continue not to troll them, so I won't get banned. I encourage everyone else not to troll as well.
I'm gonna go with this guy.
One guy got banned by the auto-filter for that forum post. That sucks for him.

What about the people who glitch/exploit in their games? They were also banned. Idk about you, but I am all for more accountability.

I haven't bought an EA game once in the last 5 years. I got close to caving with Battlefield 3, but EA managed to fuck that up with Origin and their shitty EULA. EA has always been horrible, and they've only been getting worse lately, and they will NEVER get my money until they change the way they do business (especially project $10).

I have a better idea. When EA does something illegal get a lawyer and sue them for every penny you can get. Its easy to laugh it off as "Oh EA has a mega corporation with high priced lawyers" but at the end of the day the law is the law and a judge will rule on the side of it.

If enough law suits happen its more likely to change EA then boycotts which usually dont work due to gamers not sticking to them.

If the world really thinks that when you legally purchase a game that if you misbehave slightly, you should have to lose all the money you spent, even if you didn't misbehave, then I'm just done.

I'm not buying EA games until this bullshit is fixed, but you guys can do whatever you want.

I suggest you go to a bar, buy a beer and insult the barman. Do you think you get to drink the beer or not? If people behaved badly in real life there are real consequences, why shouldn't there be ones online?

There certainly needs to be a change, but this will not achieve it. The spending power of the general public is too great to be impacted by any kind of boycott.

As much as I'd love to boycott EA over their shady business practices, I'd also love to see the conclusion to the Mass Effect trilogy that I was looking forward to long before all of this EA Origin bullshit started coming to light.

The way I see it, I'm at no risk of losing my games on Origin. I have no interest in posting on EA's boards, and I have no interest in cheats or mods that breach the terms of service.

However, Origin is still more or less spyware, so I'll likely be keeping a close eye on it, and completely removing it from my computer the moment I've finished Mass Effect 3.

EA has never done anything to annoy or upset me. Yeah, sucks for these people, but then i don't care about them.

I will keep buying games that i will enjoy, regardless of who made/published them.

Nope sorry. I don't care much about EA but I care even less for some random dudes on forums who get banned for being stupid.
