I am dissapointed that it starts with EA's press conference. They have the least interesting games for me at the moment unless they have a suprise that might interest me.tf2godz said:

Random thoughts at this point:
-God damn it, Anthem looks so...generic. It isn't just copying the gameplay loop of Destiny, it's more or less copying the lore of Destiny (world is screwed, humanity lives behind a wall, bad stuff's outside, the bad stuff's become more of a threat, we need to kill the bad stuff). Still, Destiny at least kind of has an identity in that it's sci-fa rather than sci-fi, giving a future setting a kind of knightly aesthetic. But this? This is Iron Man. Heck, the player's even got an AI companion. I'm glad that there's at least the option to play in singleplayer, but there's nothing in the game that makes me go "wow."
-Command and Conquer: Rivals. Like, why? Just why? EA killed CnC with Tiberian Twilight, now they're parading its corpse around. I mean, I could point out that the commander roster doesn't make sense in-universe, or that the technology doesn't match said roster in terms of in-universe timeframe or that the cinematic trailer makes no sense in the context of any kind of military tactics, or that the aesthetic doesn't suit the Tiberium setting at all, but I won't do that. You know why? Because I refuse to put more effort into this garbage than EA did making it.
And before you say it, yes, CnC has had mobile games before, but apart from Tiberium Alliances, there was always a mainstream CnC RTS going on at the time. This has kind of reached the area of self parody.

Not really sure what happened and care not to wallow, but anytime a game (say, a completely random example off the top of the head; Unravel 2) is announced and released on the same day...I feel something warm and fuzzy occurring inside. It must be the resident parasite getting all pleased and excited from cutting out all the usual shit inbetween.

I didn't watch it, but I'm guessing it was filled with shitty boring games, predatory practices, anti-consumer shit dressed up as player services and a general feelings of contempt for the customers as daring to pretend to be anything more than ATM lambs.
