EA won't allow me to play BF3

Every time I try to log onto Battlefield's revolutionary Battlelog, I get the following message:

"Your account is not allowed to login"

I've checked around, and it seems that about a bajillion people are dealing with the same problem. EA support seems to be of the opinion that this is due to heavy traffic but there are some users out there who claim to have ruled out that possibility. I can't say if that's true or not, I'm not an engineer.

Now I'm under no illusion that an online release of this scale will go perfectly smoothly. I came into this expecting some kind of hangup (although I didn't expect to be unable to play for this long), but I think we all can agree on this one point:

Telling your costomers that they are not allowed to play your game is the worst possible way to communicate that you're experiencing release related complications.

That's all.

I remember when I got Bad Company 2 on 360 it took me over a week to figure out the whole EA profile thing. Every time I tried to go online it gave me that message. Took a weeks worth of going back and forth with customer service to figure it out. The solution for me was to download and play the demo to another EA game and like magic I was able to log in and play. How exactly I was suppose to figure that out on my own is beyond me.

I played the beta just fine. I wonder if that's part of the problem. I'm waiting to talk to a live person right now. I'm thinking of just asking for a refund.

So this is how my conversation is going so far.

It was five minutes before he said anything to me and ten minutes since the last thing he said.

Jim Sterling was right. They should change the name to "Battlelol".

Also, I'm pretty sure everyone predicted something like this would happen. If only they didn't make you use Battlelog to play the game.

This is just kinda par for the course Steam's first major launch was a awful mess too.
You'd think they would learn from Steam's mistakes.

No one else has, why would ea be any different. Making a digital store is really damn hard, I mean look at gfwl, its been around almost as long as steam and it still sucks.

Are you able to play single player or are you completely, 100% locked out? It sucks that you can't log on and I agree, telling the customers they're not allowed to play is a horrible move.

Well now I'm glad I'm not getting this until winter (Skyrim is going to take what time I have). But this seems to be the issue with a ton of major releases on launch day.

Anyone remember battle.net the first few weeks after Diablo II came out?

Yeah, I suppose I was being a bit optimistic in hoping that EA of all people would learn something. Hopefully they follow Valve's example and stick with it, upgrade it, and make it good. And not Microsoft's example of, well, yeah.

Its EA, who do you think they are going to copy? Also as much as I hate to defend them, the launch of any multiplayer thing where large numbers of people show up is always a clusterfuck, people forget that even wow had a pretty rocky start.

I know I'm going to catch flak for saying this but I'm going to say it anyway:

This is why I always buy the 'call of duty' game first before I buy the 'battlefield' game. Since EA seems to have this particular problem quite often, I usually wait before buying their games so they have some time to get everything right. This whole signing in with an EA account thing has happened to me twice with Battlefield 1943 and Bad Company 2. I don't know why EA has to have you sign in to their servers or create an account to play their games when Treyarch and IW let you just jump in and play while sitting on the porcelain throne taking a shit.
...
...
I've never actually done that, I'm just exaggerating a bit to make my point that you can play online anywhere, anytime.

Now don't get me wrong I WILL get Battlefield 3 eventually either for Christmas or my Birthday because I enjoy playing war games with different gameplay mechanics and using helicopters and tanks on some poor schmuck caught out in the open but MW3 will come first because you don't get a headache from trying to sign in...you get the headaches after you start playing and someone starts to spam your spawn point with those motherfucking grenades!!!
