Mexico severs diplomatic ties with Ecuador after police storm its embassy to arrest politician
Ecuadorian police officers forcibly broke into the Mexican embassy in Quito, detaining former Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas.

The Ecuadorian police raided the Mexican embassy in Quito to take Glas, the former VP of Ecuador who had been found guilty of corruption and had fled to Mexico for asylum. In response, the president of Mexico has cut off diplomatic ties with Ecuador entirely as Ecuador has very blatantly broken international law.
