Fun game, but not really top anything.

96. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Net positive, but I'm baffled as to how it's held in such high esteem.

85. StarCraft II

Yep. Best RTS, and gets a spot in my top ten list.

83. BioShock

Damn good game. Good gameplay, good story, good everything (almost).

77. Xenoblade Chronicles

Gets spots in my top RPGs and top games of all time. Definately one of the best RPGS out there.

72. Metroid Prime

Meh. Not a fond of 3D Metroid.

53. Doom (2016)

One of the most overrated games of this generation. It isn't even the best Doom game (which is Doom 3...bite me).

46. Dead Space

Damn good horror game. In space, everyone can hear me scream.

39. Halo 3

Very good shooter. Lots of fun.

38. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Good Zelda game, but a tad overrated.

35. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Average Zelda game, and very overrated. It's made even worse in hindsight when it's compared to A Link Between Worlds.

31. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Favorite Zelda game and game of all time.

26. Super Metroid

Fun, but I like Zero Mission and Fusion more.

23. Advance Wars

It's fun, but I think it's the weakest Advance Wars game, as its sequels all outperform it.

14. Super Mario 64

One of the best platformers I've ever played.

10. Resident Evil 4

Best RE game, takes a spot in my top ten list.

9. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Hell yeah.

7. Tetris

Fun in short bursts.

6. Half-Life 2

Eh...not really a fan.

All of them did I'm pretty sure. The retro NES ones are all on virtual console or 3ds remasters..

So yeah, I'd buy this being someone pretty young, or who's only touched the last console generation. And doessn't seem to use PC at all.

It didn't sell 80 million copies, though. 80 million people bought a mediocre game.

It did have a contest to win 1 million dollars if you were one of the first 500,000 buyers, and it had plans for two more games and tie-in Novels by Orson Scott Card.

Lists like these do nothing but reinforce my belief that every generation just thinks it's the most important evar. This noise is the mirror opposite of your dad whining about Justin Bieber and lamenting that music today sucks when music is the same as it always was. I have no time for either attitude.

Like, I get that Breath of the Wild is fun but best game of all time? Really? Of all time? Get the fuck outta here with that myopic nonsense.

These kinds of things never really take into account how well any of these games will stand the test of time anyway. It's only really in retrospect we can decide what "the best" is. Par exemple, it wasn't until a few years after its release that Citizen Kane became regarded as one of the greatest films ever made. It actually raised a lot of controversy with Hearst and his supporters since it was an obvious swipe at him and his empire and lost a lot of money despite getting many good reviews.

Only another ten years or so will tell us whether any of those games are worth a damn IMHO.
