When most people play online, they will do something embarrassing by complete accident. Whether it be team-kills, accidental suicides, or something just humorous it happens.

I was playing Halo 3 one day on Rat's Nest Team Slayer. There was a Warthog with 3 enemies rushing towards me and I had two teammates in behind me of me. I threw a grenade upwards, and it stuck the rear bumper by and killed the 3 enemies. Unfortunately the Warthog flew at me killing me and killing my teammates, needless to say, I was booted.

What's something embarrassing that happened to you?

Back in my WoW days I remember falling asleep during a raid. That's what I get for playing with late night raiders in a time zone 4 hours behind.

Alien VS Predator.

I died.

20 times in a row.

Without a single kill the entire game.

I was ashamed.

Several, mostly during Halo 3. For one instance, I had a sniper rifle, lined up a shot and fired - aaaaaand promptly realised that I wasn't on the blue team. Whoopsie daisy.
Another, just for giggles. I was in a tank, and basically firing randomly around the flag area. After a while, someone tried to team-kill me. I was pissed until I realised I'd killed every member of the opposing team and had pretty much been murdering team-mates trying to get to the flag.

While playing Halo myself and two friends were hiding and I was aiming with a rocket launcher over a piece of scenery.
I thought I had a clear shot, fired the rocket, hit the scenery and the explosion killed myself and two teammates.

I was playing a LAN match against my brother in an RTS game called "The Moon Project". For once, I had managed to wipe out his entire base and chase his sole remaining construction unit into the underground tunnels he had dug out. The problem was that I couldn't bloody FIND him! The maze he had made was really intricate and I couldn't locate him or any exit he may have taken anywhere. After what must have been twenty minutes of non-stop searching, it dawned on me...

"You've... already resurfaced, haven't you?"

And he laughed. He laughed hard. It was just then that I got an alert that my own base was under attack. He had made those tunnels just to confuse me, had brought his construction unit to the surface early on, destroyed his exit, rebuilt his entire base/forces, and staged a coutner attack while I scrambled aimlessly down below.

I was so utterly punked at that point that I too burst out laughing, realizing how stupid I had been.

In DotA, I ran in and used an AoE to (semi-accidentally) steal 3 kills then ran off into the distance and the guy who was chasing me AoE'd all of my team mates (who were already raging at me). After using his skill he was out of mana as my ultimate skill (highest level for non-DotA players) came off of cool down, so I ran back in and took the opportunity to kill him, so now there's 4 dead enemy players 3 dead team mates. So I run back to base safely with about 10 hp.

This was less embarrassing and more annoying, as my team mates were all on my vent and didn't let me live it down for about 3 months.

"Oh yeah, I can play Mario 3's first world exactly like it is in that 11 minute video"

It ended up with me dying at the first Goomba twice and the piranha plant after that once. I did get it right after that, but nobody was looking anymore.

My est memory is not of me screwing up but of an old clan-mate in Call of Duty. We were playing a Clan-match on Brecourt, 8vs8 with us on the German Side in S&D. We heard the allies moving through the brush on the other side (we figured out a few rounds later that one of them did this to draw our attention) and so, I threw a grenade over and my clanmate standing beside me figures that he'd do the same. I go back to aiming through the small bunker-underpass with my MP40 when suddenly, I die. Along with the other two of my teammates who are taking cover there and the deathmessages inform us that it was a friendly grenade kill.
Upon looking at the replay, it turns out that my clanmate who threw the grenade managed to hit the only tree that protrudes out of the entire brush area and the grenade simply bounced back down to us. At the time we just laughed it off over TS and somehow the rest of our guys still went on to win that round.

This didn't happen online, and my performance on the screen was fine. I was playing HALO 3, with a bunch of guy mates (I'm a girl), and it's Free-for-all, making me jumpy everytime I see someone close to me. Inevitably, in the heat of battle, someone got too close to my avatar and I jumped so much I shouted out. Instead of yelling something short and simple like "DIE", I chose my sentence to be "There's someone in front of me!". Unfortunately, having gotten through the first three words just fine, my brain realised I needed more of it to manouver myself away from the barrels of various weaponry. It chose to abandon my mouth, which by it's poor pitiful self could only remember the last word. So, to my horror, I yelled out to the whole room: "THERE'S SOMEBODY IN ME!". They will never let me forget this.

Another time, not really whilst playing COD4 but having done so for most of the day, I realised I was too tired to play, so I retired and went to bed. So sleepy was I, that when I turned to go up the stairs and a roommate said hello to me from the top, I automatically tried to reach for a grenade, as I had been doing so for the entire day. Realised as my hand reached where my utility belt would be, I realised what the hell I was doing, greeted my friend, and went to bed as quickly as possible. I don't think since then have I attempted in long amounts of hours to do the same thing.

In BF2, I did the perfect sneaking into the enemy base (like I always do), I planted C4 on several of the enemy tanks and APCs with someone already inside them, and got to a vantage point to watch the show. So it turned out I had forgotten I was not on the Chinese team, and I blew up 3 of our own armor. Worst part of it all was that when I planted the C4 on them I said to myself "huh, strange. These enemies has their name show in blue".

Often i Team kill in mag. but when i do it by accident it's because the guy is hiding and i only see his head and not his Team Marker.
This is where I wouldn't shoot =3. I would check the map to see if there are friendlies or not in the area, perhaps even move for a better view. I leaned this after killing a lot of team mates in BF 2142 that was hiding in cover that didn't reveal enough of them to determine friend of foe.

Now I "ask" before I shoot always. Same when I play airsoft. I'd rather get shot myself than do friendly fire.

EVE Online.

Got drunk.

Ejected out of one of the most valuable ships in the game.

Never found it again.
