Out of the songs you've heard in video games, what songs were the ones to tug at your heartstrings the hardest? For me, it's a tie between "Aerith's Theme" from FFVII and "To Zanarkand" from FFX.

I love so many, but i'll try to limit myself to a few here heh:
-''The opened way'' from Shadow of the Colossus (the one you hear when you climb on the first colossus, as well as some others) is epic beyond words!
-the orchestral version of ''Guerudo Valley'' from Ocarina of time is also exceedingly moving.
-all the music from the Metal Gear serie is just plain genius.
-''I don't want to set the world on fire'' kay i know that's not originally from a game, but i thought it was just perfect for the Fallout 3 trailer.
-But i think ''Still Alive'' is THE single most awesome song ever heard in a game!...or in anything anywhere actually! love you GLaDOS <3, i forgive you for the cake.

Metal Gear Solid, the music in the gameplay sections perfectly suits the atmosphere, it's the cutscene music that takes you on an emotional journey.

I love "hope runs deep" the main theme of Gears of war 2, remarkable piece of music if you ask me, also pretty much the entire Halo soundtrack, Marty o'donnell's a bit of a genius.

Halo 3's menu music [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9C_9vYrzVs], especially from 3:14, that part always gives me goosebumps, with the piano.
WoW's Grizzly Hills soundtrack [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IV1ekaMKyc&fmt=18], that violin at the start still gives me goosebumps as well (like, right now again).
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker's staff credit music [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eahUR_tLDWs], one of the best Zelda pieces if you ask me, I really love the more folkloric sound of that song. Before I die I want to hear that orchestrated, as orignally as possible, with an as grand orchest as possible. I think this version [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ipiz8sRiXwE&feature=related] has some synthesizers in it, it's still beautifull.
Gears of War 1 and 2 soundtrack in general, I wouldn't class it as beautifull, but as epic.
Bioshock's soundtrack, so delightfully tragic, this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGFyffkxqPM&feature=related] is the best example.
