since the advent of Television, watching musical performances on TV has always been enjoyable. And along came MTV and other channels like it (Much Music in Canada for instance), brought on Music Videos.

It sucks that these stations have pretty much stopped playing music, preferring to show teen pregnancy reality shows in their stead.

Now, on to the main topic: Which music videos have you seen that have moved you emotionally?

For me, its two recent videos from Five Finger Death Punch.

Growing up in a troubled home, with Alcohol, abuse, absense of a family member due to military service, and dealing with them being changed when they come home, the video for "Remember Everything" touched me on a personal level. When I showed it to my mother, it moved her to tears.

The second, being an attempted suicide survivor, this video was a kick in the gut for me (especially since I chose to kill myself with a bottle of Tylenol 3 with Codeine, similar to in the video), "Coming Down" is just an amazing video.

Five Finger Death Punches music is very well written and most of their songs touch very relevant topics with today's society, and is one of my all time favorite bands.

Make it Stop (September's Children) by Rise Against touches on a similar subject.

Honestly, I love the song but I struggle to listen to sometimes it because it chokes me up and gets me a bit emotional (this rarely happens to me from songs). Probably because of how I was treated when I was younger and felt like giving up, it gave me a connection to the people in the video. Also, I feel the video really helps push the issue raised in the song. By itself the song has it's message but together with the video it really hammers it home.

Its haunting to me, I see an old man who is reflecting on an entire lifetime and all the regrets of his life. Facing up to his death that was to come shortly after making this....

I don't know if it's more the song or the video which emotionally trigger me, but 'The Tide' by The Spill Canvas is a pretty strong contender.

Then, there's Metallica's 'The Day That Never Comes'. This one definitely triggers me because my brother is a soldier in the army, and a lot of the themes hit home real hard.

Oh shit... I mean the song is sad enough, but when it's combined with these images of regret...I...I think I have something in my eye.

Here's my contribution. If this doesn't move you, I'm afraid you have no soul.

This was the first song I heard from Gotye... So I bought the album, and found it's the only song on there that I like.

Love the video though.

Came to this thread with this song in mind. Nothing has come even close to this one. The video just makes it so damn emotional. And then, while replaying the song, i decided to read about Mr. Cash on Wikipedia. "all those emotions" would be a good saying for that moment.

When in Jr. High-Early High School, this video was my favorite for awhile, simply because I was bullied and teased blah blah...

Like some others have said, this is the same song I was thinking of as soon as I saw the post. Excellent choice. Haunting is definitely the way to describe it.

I'm an emotional cripple but I reckon September's Children by Rise Against might be under this topic.

Music videos don't really make me feel anything, but I guess this is the video that gave me the closest thing to a feeling I've experienced...

Hooray for probably the only rap song that will be posted.

Sigur Ros. The songs are already sweeping sheets of melancholy and whimsy, and the videos just kick that up another notch

I'm pretty sure you mean something other than whimsy. Whimsy is happy, silly, funny... I wasn't really getting that from the video you posted. Nice song though.

Erm. I dunno about music videos... The best example I can think of is Cash's Hurt cover, which a million or so people have posted already.
