Am I the only one who was disappointed by them? Like the fact they're just zombies that teleport?

I like Endermen. The glowing eyes can really startle you, esp. if you turn a dark corner and you were expecting a zombie. I didn't know, however, they were water soluable. I'll definitely be keeping a water bucket with me at ALL times from now on.
I have a feeling Notch didn't make them anywhere near as scary as they were supposed to be thanks to everyone complaining about making it too difficult, that or they aren't coded fully yet.
It took forever for one to become hostile with me just staring at it for ages from all angles, it died easily and did little damage. Meh, I was hoping to be terrified of them and to have a real threat in the game since the improved combat system makes it actually fun to kill enemies now and they are all too easy.

I think they're creepy as hell. Sure, they're not that hard to kill, but seeing those glowing green eyes in the darkness...brrr.. I also love the whole "Alert" thing. I just wish they didn't spaz out when it happens. I wish they just stopped what they were doing and stared at you, rather than the shaking thing they do.
I also love that they'll teleport behind you sometimes when you hit them.
They need to change the sounds though. Either make them silent, or give them a different sound than a zombie.
Favorite story so far: I was exploring the (f-ing huge) mineshaft in my world, when I got poisoned by a group of cave spiders. Killed them, but left with half a heart. Then I see an Enderman.
Walking towards me.
He hadn't been "alerted," he was just wandering, but he kept getting closer. And closer. So there I am with one heart and an Enderman a few feet away, and I'm just staring at my feet going "ohshitohshitohshit..."
Eventually, he wandered away and I got the hell out of there. Incredibly fun experience though.

Haven't seen one yet as, after the 1.8 update, I get memory problems every 5 minutes. It would appear memory usage starts at around 0.5GB before going up to 1GB and then crashing. Aaaaarrghhh!

Actually, I got really angry when I saw one of them on the top of my tower messing with the blocks there. When I looked at him thinking "WTF are you doing?!" and he looked back with those scary purple pinkish eyes back... To finally fade away and show up right behind me... I actually screamed.
They're more annoying than scary though when they mess up my buildings. Still, I do try to avoid eye contact with them.

The endermen are scary if you let them be. They're not really threatening in a dangerous way, just in more of a...psychological way. You CAN'T look at them. If you do, they tear your face off. And when they die in the morning, the block they're holding goes with them. That means they're taking the world apart one block at a time per night per enderman. You know what that makes them?
