ok this is not a "best song" thread it is about songs
that speak to a generation or make you want to do something
i suggest Renegades Of Funk by Rage Against The Machine it makes me think and i think it has a point

"make you want to do something" doesn't imply epic...

If you want epic songs, look at just about any song by the band 'Epica'. convenient, neh?

Dream theater - the count of tuscany

All 20 mins of it is beautiful. Usually I'd be bored after 5 mins, but this song is special.

Gray Sublime Archon - Eluveitie
Im not one for death/folk/viking metal, the scream singing does tend to grind on me after a while. This is different, its not as hard with the vocals. This song has a nice guitar lead, its folk so expect some good o' Iish in there and the Chourus is great.

If anyone knows any songs similar please let me know :)

In other news:
Smells like teen spirit of course, it is the song for the entire grunge genre and generation X.

All My Friends Are Metal Heads. It's just so ridiculously hyper, perfect for jumping around like an moron in the most epic way possible!

The Fountain of Lamneth by "Rush" has always been my favorite masterpiece. What a journey by such young musicians - only in their early 20's.

Opeth - Moonlapse Vertigo

Love it when a song gets even better after 5:00 of kicking ass!

I agree with you on the Tool! Though I would personally pick Jambi as the best song off 10,000 Days.
