We here at Escapism Sydney like to think of ourselves as community-oriented and conscientious people. As such, for the first Escapism of 2010 we are offering Escapists the opportunity to express their inner Zombie, while protesting the lack of an R18+ games rating.
Our event will begin at 10am on the Saturday, 27th of March. We will meet at Central Station by 10, at which point we'll leave for the protest. I'll be there at 9:30 or so in the main hall up the top. Head for the Countrylink platform 1, we're at the other end of that big room in front of Hungry Jack's and the bar. The main protest starts at 11am and runs until 4pm at Hyde Park. Costume is (almost) a must. If you don't have a costume, at least wear clothes you won't mind getting covered in fake blood. It stains, believe me. If you want to be political zombies placards are fine too. I'll request that there's nothing that is obscene or threatening to Atkinson. As tempting as that may be, it's not an image which will be conducive to the cause. Aside from the cost of transport, food and clothing this is an entirely free event which will hopefully enable more people to come.
If you want a better excuse than "Meeting people off the net, zombies and protests." then really, there's nothing we can do for you.
I summon you, Escaparinos. You have chosen, or been chosen to appear in Sydney on this date. There will be epic. There will be zombies. There will be fun, and food, and strange looks from the ordinary people standing around on the street who suddenly realise that they're being flash-mobbed by zombies.
If you're coming put your name in this thread and I'll add you to the List.
EDIT: Because this is a huge event, drag as many friends as you can along. Also, RSVP is non-essential as I'm not needing to book for anyone however it'd be nice to know so that when everyone's turned up at Central we know.
Edit 2: If we get bored with the protest there's always the option of toddling to an arcade, net cafe, or laser tag to see if there are spots open.
