Are you pretty, amazing, intelligent, social, and love meeting new people? If so, what the hell are you doing here?

Hi! I'm sky14kemea, and this thread is to kick off Escapism UK 2011!

For those of you that have no idea what I'm talking about, Escapism UK is a weekend event where Escapist members from across the United Kingdom all gather together to get to know each other, and just have a lot of fun in general! It's a great opportunity to meet and make new friends and catching up with others you know from the forums or met before. We don't just limit ourselves to anyone from the UK however, if you have a free day or can hope across the various borders of the world, you are welcome to attend!
The past two events took place in London and have been very successful, with last year's event getting more people to attend as well. This year we aim to move to a different part of the UK to try and spice things up a bit!

The dates for this year will be Friday 22nd July to Sunday 24h July. We have not decided on a location this year, and we will be voting for it as usual in the Escapism UK User Group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Escapism-UK]. The places up for vote are Manchester, York, Edinburgh and Cornwall!

If you are interested, please feel free to look over all the information in the User Group, or PM me or The Red Spy for details. However, please do not confirm you are definitely attending until you have seriously thought about it, and have checked to see whether your parents would allow it, or whether you can afford it. Otherwise you may be taking up valuble spots for other members that can attend.

The attendance limit this year is 30 people, as without any Moderators or general Authority figures, it may be hard to keep track of more people than that. There is also an age limit of 14+, and I would insist on parental permission from anyone aged 15 to 16.

Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you in the User Group! Of course if you'd like to ask a question in the thread you can quote me to get my attention (but remember to snip most of the text please!).

Yeah, I'm definitely going. Not wasting the $1500 I spent on that plane ticket.

Booo, where's the vote for Leicester ;)

Anyway, I can count as an authority figure if needed.
That's true actually >.> You can be our third in command! xD

Aw, none of those cities are close to me.
Well, like last year I'm seriously considering it but it'll most likely be a no. Even if I do somehow suddenly get lots of free time in July my parents would most likely say no, especially now it's further away from me.
[sub]Also, I'm shy.[/sub]

Pffft, I'm shy too and I'm running the thing.

...gathering people together is hard. _> I use my cohorts to do that.

fair enough though, distance can be annoying for this thing =P

I am so in.

Now to decide whether to be selfish and vote for Edinburgh due to proximity...
Go ahead and vote for whichever, no matter what your reason =P I hope to see you in the User Group soon then :D

Well I was planning on going. But then I had to go and become unemployed. Weak.

Be sure to take shit-tons of pictures!

Hmmm... July is a ways off...
I suppose I might have the slimmest possibility of actually being able to attend this year, if I can find another job to pay for it, and I can fulfill some other conditions.

Can I vote for Cornwall even if I'm not going?
...Y'know I wish you could, since I'm personally hoping for Cornwall xD but you can't unless you're really considering going.

I would've prefered London like previous years, that way I would actually be able to make the distance.
