I'm contemplating getting my self a laptop. My question to all who read these words is will it be able to withstand gaming. Namely Assassins Creed... and maybe Mass Effect 1 & 2. I mainly want it for audio and video editing, but gaming is a necessity!
The specs are...

Microprocessor 2.1GHz VISION Technology from AMD with AMD Athlon II Dual-Core Processor for Notebook PCs P320

Microprocessor Cache 1MB L2 Cache

Memory 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 DIMM)

Memory Max 8GB

Video Graphics ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 Graphics

Video Memory Up to 1917MB

Hard Drive 500GB (7200RPM)

It's an HP laptop. Any help is appreciated.

I just done a little check - that card will apparently run L4D1 on low graphics settings. Anything higher than that and it can't handle it. So no, assassins creed and ME will not be playable.

Now, I'm no tech expert, but from the looks of things and what I semi-know, that's fairly good for today's standards, and it'll remain up to date for another 2-3 years before you need to upgrade.
Ignore that. I'm wrong and I was going by how many numbers there are after the name. As it stands now, you'll probably want something a little better than that, but it still has better specs than my coal powered beast of a stone-age computer

I think for video and audio editing, you'll probably want to look at software mainly, but you'll want good quality sound too, and I have no idea about that. Look at a model in your local PC retail outlet, and if there's a sound thing then try it out.

it's weaker than a 6600 GT? Ok, scratch that L4D potential then - I had a 6600 LE and it couldn't play HL2 on low without crying LIKE LITTLE BABY.

No. Just no.

:(

Why is it that you need a laptop anyway? If you dont ned to be moving it around get a desktop. Gaming PCs are cheaper than gaming laptops anyway.

Use that. It will tell you if you can run each game. If you fail the test, it will also tell which components aren't making the grade.

Edit: It will also give you suggestions on fixing it.

Edit2: Oops didn't quite read your OP well enough, ignore me.
