The best database I could come up with on short notice is you, so here goes. I'm looking for an anime that may have aired on Cartoon Network during the late 90's early 2000's.
The only information I have to go on is that one character (A Female) used a weird energy sword that had no hilt but just sprung from her hand. It looked not unlike an extended exclamation point, with the dot being below her fist.
