Just played a gig at the top underground venue in the city, lot of mates and family there, couldn't here myself for shit for 15 minutes and it was probaly the worst gig I'll ever play. Really fucked off.

So, you guys tell me about how you have sucked ass and it might draw me away from eating rat poison.

Everyone makes mistakes. From past experiences, I can tell you that a battle axe has a tendency of clearing them right up, though.

My first gig was horrible. We have very cheap equipment, and the mic got all distorted, as well as our singer being entirely unheard for a song.

First gigs always suck. A golden rule.

Well at school I was kind of forced into playing the flute at a prize giving event. I wasn't feeling too great and my flute was somewhat fucked up, so I didn't exactly cover myself in glory. Not the worst I've ever performed, but being the only performance of the night it was rather embarrassing to say the least.

We played a show at some rich prick's house among a bunch of other bands. We went on after some crappy rap duo that played over their time limit and our set was cut short. They kept cutting it buy a few minutes as we played on until they cut us off after about twenty minutes of playing. Not to mention the sound sucked.

Thanks for that. Because I have my first gig ever in 2 days as part of my college course, and our singer is shite.

I play guitar, and I fuck up all the time. So you just act like they never happened and move along.

well, I usually fail a trick or two when performing in public... but I'm good at picking up where I left off.

Hmmmmm, I tend to go more for the oversized kitchen knife. It's easy to tuck into a belt, much less bother to carry around, and when I'm in an especially sadistic mood then I can cut the organs out [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.160850#4085925] with no fuss. An axe just doesn't let you do that...

Okay, shameless self-promotion aside, I can't really say I've been shit at something in public. Though I haven't really had the chance to, to be honest. I did do public speaking and presentations and stuff at my old school and I've never been much of a public speaker though, albeit I did manage to develope really good skills at bullshitting with a few brief statements then passing it on to the next person quite quickly...

Well, you can only get better. A first gig is a good indication of what you need to work on, and it's usually a lot. Unless you have a particularly good band.
