Ever had a moment where it felt right to stop and think?

For 14 years I've lived in Texas. The only time I ever saw snow was when all of it had fallen and gotten dirty. However, today is much different. The snow is gently falling and I can stand to go outside in the cold. Seeing all the snow around me made me think about everything I have done so far. The sheer beauty of the snow made me begin to think that atleast for the time being, everything was going to be alright.

Has anyone had a moment like this, where you just stop and think?

Yes. I'm a creative type and I write a lot of short stories, so sometimes I'll stop and think about ideas for them. And I sometimes can't get to sleep because I'm lying awake in bed, thinking about different things (happened this morning in fact, when I woke up around 4am and struggled to get back to sleep because my mind was thinking about random stuff).

Oh, and I definitely daydream a lot (I zoned out of the end of a lecture today singing the songs from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in my head...).

Yes, quite often. Introspective mood tends to hit me whenever I'm surrounded by the beauty of the nature and considering I'm a scout, I'm within woodland areas or fishing by a lake more often than not.

Come to think of it, I spend roughly 15-25 days every year out of contact with civilization...

I'd gone to Ireland with my dad to build a shed for our holiday home over there, and late at night, after my dad had gone to bed, I was sitting on the back deck looking out over the fields and listening to the ocean (Only half a mile away and it's a peaceful area so the sound carries) while sipping on some ice-cold cider. I was perfectly content to be there with just my thoughts.

Other times too, but that's the most recent.

All the time, maybe just not as profound. Like when I'm hunting in the woods, observing animals and seeing the sun shine through the trees. Also when I go on vacation I spend hours out on the balcony watching the city while listening to my iPod.
