so I was just wondering have any of the people at the escapist have ever lost control.

For me it would have to be when this guy name Dillon and I got into a fight at first I thought that it would be a violent yet harmless fist fight, but after I was winning he pulled a knife on me when he came at me I dodged until I couldn't any more than I tackled him to the ground and slammed his hand onto a rock and knocked the knife out of his hand. I then proceeded to grab the knife and go for his neck if the principal had not stopped me I would be in jail right now. I don't know why I went for his neck I just did I was just wondering if anybody else had lost control like that.

I was bullied through most of high school, one day at the start of gym class one of these guys figured it'd be funny to whip me in the face with a t-shirt he'd found in the locker room. After hitting me, he dropped the shirt and started to walk away, I grabbed the shirt, wraped it around his neck and started to strangle him. I only stopped when I heard the locker room door open (I thought it was the teacher, it wasnt). On the upside, that guy and his 'friends' (who saw the whole thing, along with the rest of the class) never bothered me again.

Same. Hell, when I'm absolutely enraged, I have far more control over myself than I normally have.

Yes. Once, only once after being hit in the eye. Fortunately I didn't really do much but yell a lot.

I have a lo more self-control now a days, but if I actually do get lose control, then it's really, really bad.

I'm reeeeaaaaally slow to anger. And I'm usually the one thats beat, but I'm so used to taking a beating it doesn't hurt anymore and the people that punch actually hurt their hands punching me.

Self-defense win?

A couple times, but my friends(luckily for all parties involved) were always close enough to keep me away from the guy. I have good control and even when I have lost it, i've gotten it back within a couple of seconds.

You might say so, especially when I was younger I spent a good portion of my childhood in residential facilities. I did things like stab teachers with pencils and throw chairs and desks at people for a variety of reasons that made sense at the time but were really pretty far out there. I got things under control, went to college, worked 10 years as casino security, and my problems started to get pretty bad again so I wound up becomong disabed. I haven't done anything violent, but along with some generally erattic behavior I have a tendency to yell at people and lose my temper. I keep myself carefully controlled with medication.

I've mentioned this before, my problems however likely stem from brain damage.

I've talked about this before in various relevent threads. The point is I know exactly what it is to lose control, and it's not a good thing especially afterwards. I can feel for you.

Once. We were playing football in the culdasac of my neighborhood, and we had a 5 year old kid with us. We let him play because he wanted to "play with the big kids."

Well, I tripped and accidently landed on him, he was crying so I ran to a friends house to get some ice. Fifteen seconds later, I am back with a handful of ice and we get him moving to his mother. Some cocky little shit decided that it would be hilarious to try and knock the ice out of my hand. He failed at doing so and after the little kid was gone, a friend and I stayed behind to confront him on what he did.

He deicded to push his luck and feign a push at me after an insult. Never in all my life have I seen red except for that sprint after him. My friend intervened and got me to call myslef off, but I have never again operated purely on vengful instincts.

Several times.

I was even doing self control training in order to prevent that. I'm usually a really good person, I like to help, I would never hurt somebody. I'm aware of what I can do when I lose control, so I try my best NOT to lose.

My younger brother was beaten by 2 guys. I snapped and.... almost killed 1 of them. If my friend didn't pass by and stopped me... who knows, maybe I would be in jail right now. But seriously, I'm a good guy and I've never attacked or did harm to anyone on my own. It was always provoked.

It's hard to get my angry, but when you do... I wouldn't like to be on the receiving end.

May or June, 2007. (anonymous) High School, (anonymous), California, United States of America. Between noon and 1:00 PM.
I had been having the worst day. I had found out a girl I liked had been deflowered after prom by a schoolmate of mine (note it was his senior prom, and her & my sophomore year). I had jealousy over it, but not over the man whom she slept with but rather the ease of the action, in that my own sexual experience with it was rather poor with my former girlfriend of the previous November. In addition to that, I had been trying out for a position I felt I was quite qualified for (now I realize I would have been horrible at it) in the marching band. I was very upset over that, and at lunch some of my friends (some more friendly than others) were chatting. Two friends whom were being irritating to me were getting on my already singed nerves. In a heat of frustration (but after kindly asking them to stop their actions) I hurled my foot at one of them's nose, almost breaking it. It is the single greatest act of mine that I regret.

one of my friends was being a prick because i have a crush on one of my other friends and after about a month so i grabbed and started crushing his throat. one of my friends friends got a knife pulled on him, and my friends smashed the shit out of him at school when he didnt have the knife and got excluded for a day. another friend smashed the guy his ex cheated on him with (who is a massive wanker) and got 3 days exclusion. most of us are friends through MMA classes as well as school.

Not usually. I ignore most of it, but when I do snap, oh boy. Pain happens. But I don't like to do that, and I will usually remain anonymous. Not so much in the last 2 years though (high school), but when I snap, I black out, and single mindlessly beat the living shit out whoever is unlucky enough to piss me off to that level. Happened only a few times. Both times I came back to sanity only to realize I was pretty badly hurt, once with a pretty bad cut, because the guy was holding a pencil at the time. All ok after a while, though.
