Evolution of Music

Mankind has been creating music for a good while now, and its progression from ritualistic chanting to highly complex symphonies to more popular forms (rock, jazz, pop, rap, techno, etc.) and everything in between.

My question is: Where do you think music stands to go?

While music is becoming ever diverse and genres, thankfully, are being broken and blended, what do you think comes next for music?

Just like in Silvester Stalones 'Demolition Man' where they are all loving and singing these piece of s@#$ songs...

"Where will culture go?"
"What will science reveal in the future?"
"What will Obama have for dinner next Friday?"

Both impossible to answer, and well... needless. "Just sit back and enjoy some old tunes, while we all go up in a mushroom cloud together."

A new popular genre will spawn, Rap will die, Rock and Country will stay alive but not be overly popular.

Personally I'm hoping for something crazy like a Funk revival... it would distract everyone from the problems of the world. Gotta have the Funk...
