Getting my exam results in 3 days and according to my Mom, I never did near to enough studying and believes I will fail everything. I never did very well in the prelims and I admit that I'm currently worried about my future plans. So any last minute advise you guys can give me before the big day? Should I run away and join the circus? If I fail, will it mean the end?

Well, I've had my share of failures in education (A few very recent ones, I might add), so I know the feeling of awaiting the results that you know are down the gutter. Though I'm not too sure what you want advice for exactly.

In any case, you're worried about your future because you had a lack of motivation regarding your studies I imagine (that was my case at least). Do you have a chance to repeat your failed year? Could you be a bit more specific about your circumstances? Because failing a year rarily means the end. (Then again, I'm not too familiar with the British education system)

You can only move forward. If you pass then good for you! If not then try and find another way forward. Are there courses you can do? can you repeat? what is it exactly that you want? what's driving you? Do you have goals?

I'm awaiting my results, ten days, i did well in most things but i'm not much of a good study when it comes to things i'm not interested in. I tanked at maths for example, maths was never my strong suit but for reasons beyond me it is more vital to academia here than English, Biology, French, Geography and History. So i wont be able to take the course i wanted. However i'll be doing a small (and thankfully VERY cheap) course hopefully that if i do really well on, will allow me to do the course i wanted to take in first place within a year or so. I have to get sparkling results in the course to progress up the ladder but the course does interest me so hopefully i'll pull it off instead of repeating!.

Don't worry, it's not the end, all you can do is keep looking forward. I've done a lot of waiting for results in my time, I just graduated university, and had my share of failures. Don't panic if you do fail, check if you can retake the exam or the course. If you pass, congratulations! But if you fail there will be other roads you can take.

its never the end cause u can always redo the test (even if its a final) after ur done with school it will only mean u will have to spend a month or two studying and all will be well assuming u dont have anything u must do right after graduation for me its harder cause ive got to go to the millitary and if i want to improve ill have to wait 3 more years...
my advice is for you to chill for the next days play video games have fun with friends or whatever anything to distract yourself from the coming results

Wow, someone else with a mom from hell (well, mine wasn't that bad but she has a ridiculously pessimistic outlook on... well, everything. So, yeah, according to her, I was a screw up my entire life, though I've proven her wrong time and time again. Oh well...)

In any case, your grades never ever define you. In the end, there is only one question: Did you do everything you could do? If yes, then anything else won't matter. You fail? No biggie, dust yourself off and try again. Grades not as good as you hoped it would be? No biggie, kick yourself in the butt and work harder from now on. You passed everything with flying colours? Nice but not as big a deal as you think it is. Keep it up.

This exam (and pretty much all exams) are nothing but stepping stones. You stumble, you pick yourself up. It's that simple.
besides... isn't it a bit late for any nerve-wracking? I mean, you already took the exam. Not like worrying your butt off is going to change anything. Better enjoy the next few days because whatever the results are, after that there's work ahead.

Failing in exams is not the end of the world. It might mean you have to scale back or postpone some of your career plans, but for now, just wait and see.
You don't know that you've failed yet, so it's a little premature to start working out what to do if you've failed. If it comes to it, look into all of your options, are there any retakes you can do, or can you do another course to get you closer to where you want to be?

I get my results on the 16th I think, and my offer to study at Cambridge (essentially my 'dream') relies on me getting an A* in my Chemistry.

*Vomits everywhere*

Every time I think about opening them damn results my stomach does a 360 noscope backflip.

But seriously, what's done is done now, and you have to deal with that accordingly, and if things don't go to plan, you get another, better plan! Just be prepared for the worst, but hope for the best.

Huh geez, that's one supportive Mom you've got there o_O

^ Take inspiration from that. If I hadn't failed some university level courses, I'd never have found what I actually wanted to do with life.

EDIT: I thought that'd be just the clip from "Begins" however, I think you get the point.
