Can you list/name/think of examples in the world of epic heroic myths and legends and stories and stuff like that?

You guys besides me can think of/list/name any epic heroic myth, legend, story, etc., from all around the world, and in any or all types and kinds of forms, mediums, etc., especially from the past and/or the present, if you guys want.

You see, throughout human history, we tell each other stories of all kinds and types, especially those in any form, medium, etc., whether it's movies, poetry or books, and some of the earliest and oldest forms of storytelling are epic heroic stories, myths and legends.

Despite living in an ever-changing world, in keeping in the tradition of storytelling past and present, can you guys list/name/think of examples in the world of epic heroic myths and legends and stories, etc., from all around the world, and especially those in any form, medium, etc., past and/or present (like movies, novels, even poetry)?

Or some of them, if necessary?

I would appreciate it.

This morning, I stubbed my toe, and I only teared up for like 10 seconds.

Try not to swoon[footnote]What's this all about? Like do you want stuff like Hercules? Or Achilles? Or what other kind of stuff?[/footnote]

Teared up? Huh...you're doing better than I.
My stubbed toes usually involve making the sweet old lady across the hall faint from the swearing.

You don't need myths, chum. Often, there's more to the flesh and blood heroes out there. And, in a way, thank Wikipedia for being such a treasure trove of their stories:

"Willetts [//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Willetts] was killed in Springfield Road RUC station by the Provisional IRA. A man in his mid-twenties emerged from a car and threw a suitcase containing a blast bomb into the lobby of the station. Willetts thrust two children and two adults into a corner and stood above them as the 30 lbs of explosives detonated seriously injuring him. Seven RUC officers, two British soldiers and eighteen civilians were injured in the attack. Willetts was fatally injured by a chunk of metal from a locker which had struck him in the back of the head. As he was being removed by ambulance, he and the injured officers were jeered by local youths who screamed obscenities at them. Willetts died after two hours on the operating table at Royal Victoria Hospital."

The Lord Of The Rings Is a Full-on Heroic Epic.
The Chronicles of Narnia is less epic in scale, but the characters are definitely heroes in the truest sense.
Oddly, enough I can't think of any "pure hero" stories set in modern or future times. Even in the Star Trek The Next Generation, a future where EVERYBODY is a decent person, doesn't come across as "heroic" per se.

Also, too many trolls :(
