Vergil followed along behind the others, guarding the rear in case any more of Kain's troops tried anything. They soon reached the tavern that Scarlett had taken them to. A rather cold front came in from the ocean, obviously a bad sign of things to come. The tavern itself was a rather upmarket location, and quite big in size as well.
Scarlett had went over to a nearby board, Julie soon joining her. That just left Vergil and Vessel at a nearby table. There was silence for a few moments, before Vessel asked a question, a slight nervous inflection in her voice.
"What happened after I left?" Vergil clasped his hands together, his thumbs moving in and out with no real rhythm. After thinking it over for a few minutes, he responded.
"Not much really. After you left, I rented a room, and just sat there. Quiet. Calm. Alone. Some time later, Julie knocked at my door; bringing along a bottle of alcohol, and a sympathetic ear. We just talked for awhile. Swapping stories, general discussion, like we were friends. It was rather nice. She then gave me a scrap of paper with some numbers on it, something to do with that chest she mentioned earlier." Vergil then gently held the Vessel's hand before continuing.
"After our chat, I decided to have a walk. Bumped into some old friends, found myself a nice tavern to have a quiet drink in. It was as I left the Conjuress' Elixir, that the snow started to fall. I continued my walk, where I stopped in front of a tailors, remembering that a few of the seams needed mending on my coat, and the attached hood. I also thought, I'd get you a nice present, that coat for example; which by the way, I'll clean myself. After I purchased the coat, well you know the rest." He quickly decided to change the subject, a much more calmer mood descended on the table, as a smile formed on Vergil's lips.
"Now then, since I am paying for the drinks, what would you fancy m'lady?"
