Over the past week i've picked up COD world at war again and started playing the multiplayer on the Playstation 3. Overall I am having an excellent time. But I wanted to pick up on the one thing which I didn't like (and this excludes rocket launchers and grenade launchers), is the Bouncing Betties and Satchel Charges.

For me they didn't fit the style of play I was expecting, I understand that Satchel Charges are in fact very useful in the aspect of destroying tanks but they are used to kill people in every other map, apart from them seriously annoying me I don't think it feels very "world war two".

When it comes to bouncing betties I don't feel like they should have been included, they get an awful lot of kills because unless you have taken a perk then you won't see a planted betty if the person was smart enough to hide it around the corner! Unlike the Satchel Charges which actually require some forward planning, if you take the Bouncing Betty perk then you can (and people do) just drop them round corners as their going along and they don't have to worry about their own players getting hit by them.

I understand the proper use of Bouncing Betties used to be set up before you get yourself all cosy in a sniper post but most people just drop them as they go.

I suppose I am just trying to find some reason in my rage but i'd like to know other players feelings towards this.

Ah Betties are so very annoying, but killing a guy with his own is oh so satisfying.
The only satchel charge I have been killed by was my own.

I find the worst thing about betties is that they are only unlocked at a high level and my favourite function is sniper. if I want to remain safe in a position I need to ask someone else to plant one for me... Very annoying.

Satchels I have only ever seen used on tanks. They are too impractical for killing infantry. You need to plant it, then stay close enough to it that you can see when someone is near it. Of course this means that you will be camping, not getting any kills and very prone to being killed, rendering your satchels useless.

Of course, you could also find an unorthodox sniping spot that no one knows about and remain safe there.

But everyone's pretty much memorised the maps by now. There are no secret sniping spots.
