Not trolling, but I don't really understand why some of you regard them as the messiahs of gaming. So a chance to have a friendly debate with some neckbeards from 4chan.

I like something educational and slightly academic, but still fun to watch, about video games. And they do that. Messiahs? Not so much. I did thing James's two part episode was very moving, but the subject matter was of a moving nature.

Same here. I admit, it bothers me a bit that so many evidently find them THAT pretentious and preachy, but just a bit.

Extra Credits is something that as an art form video games really needs: A group of highly educated very intelligent and experienced (no I'm not talking about my 17th level wizard)people to embrace and support the deeper side of gaming. Their academic style of presentation quickly spread their message and ideal putting weight on what they say. And once given power (recently from the extra money from donations)they once again proved their wisdom and intelligence by coming up with a great use for it. Extra credits is the best fitting key to unlocking the potential of gaming.

it's a hit or miss for me some of episodes are quite good but so of them so bad that i facepalm myself while watching them. Hosts of this show have opinions and sometimes biases sometimes i agree sometimes i strongly disagree(last episode i totally disagreed with was about cutscenes), that's probably why it's hit of miss for me.

I dunno. I liked the show enough while it was here, but not enough to keep following around. I couldn't really take it seriously enough for that when they can't even tell the difference between a first and third person shooter (the number of times they called Gears of War an FPS astounded me).

The show was insanely pretentious and condescending, and I'm really glad it's gone from the Escapist. Not sure how I feel about Tycho and Gabe giving them a new home though. I've lost a bit of respect for Penny Arcade now.
