Fable 2 is an action RPG set in the world of Albion, it is a sequel to the much acclaimed original xbox game: Fable 1. The story begins with a tutorial mission were your character is a child in the town of Bowerstone, an orphan with just your sister Rose. Your mission is to collect 5 coins in 5 different ways in order to by a magical box, that a blind woman Theresa assured you was real. The box is real and grants you and your sister the ability to go to Castle Fairfax were certain shocking story elements arrive.
Once you complete your childhood you arrive at the Gypsy Camp as a young adult, this is were the game really begins. The game offers you a long main quest and several shorter side quests that don't seem to work once you finish the main quest. The game is also a bit more linear than described by creator Peter Molyneux, he promised that if you wanted to go anywhere for example it would be possible. In reality there isn't much point to stray too far from the path as a glowing trail guides you everywhere you need to go.
Next is the unusual combat system, X uses melee, Y uses ranged and B uses magic, these can be used together in a variety of ways to create some awesome combo's. The thing that lets down the game is how easy it is, once your abilities are high enough, NOBODY gets in your way. You can also make loads of money extremely easy, so there is no challenge to get those better weapons.
An good part of Fable II is the ability to raise a family, find a suitable partner, have unprotected sex, bam- you have a child or an STD. Your child grows up at an suprising rate and before you know it he's a walking talking obnoxious twat. Your family also requires you to come visit them very often, otherwise you could find your self with a divorce and your child taken away by the protection agency.
The achievements are some of the best of any Xbox 360 game and you are sure to spend many happy hours getting the full 1000g. But getting it isn't a walk in the park, some achievements are ridiculously hard, one involves you trading six dolls with other players, meaning if you don't have Xbox Live kiss that achievement goodbye. The game also has some interesting DLC avalilible- Knothole Island and See the Future.
Buy it- but you might want to sell it once it's completed.
