i heard a rumor recently that peter molyneux in all his infinite wisdom, is planning to release 3 more fable games, i dunno about you guys but i was severely dissapointed with fable 2 ,the story was criminally short and the controls seemed a bit, i dunno, stodgy, what changes would you make to the new fable games (assuming there is 3 more to come) and do you think 5 fable games will be overkill, or a glorious tribute to an amazing series

Fable was meh, not good or bad, just meh.

Fable 2 didn't change a damn thing.

Don't expect Fables 3-5 to do much more in the revolution department. Plan to trade in my copy of Fable 2 at Gamestop later this week.

I don't think the series would get to 5 titles. I suspect one more,if its not brilliant and sells a lot, they'll drop it.

I'm sure he wants to do five, but I doubt they'll sell well enough to justify it.

I remember the original context that was said in and what Molyneux was trying to say, was that he know what sort of setting he'd have for the next 3 games, were he to make them.
Molyneux also recently said that he would change the genre for the next game as he doesn't want to keep making the same game.

Essentially, Molyneux talks a load of nonsense that isn't to be believed, don't pay any attention to anything he says.

I liked Fable 2, yes it was dissappointing in some aspects but the sheer attention to detail made it very interesting to play, though shallow in places. However, I don't think they can keep the franchise going another 3 games, here's just not enough to work with.

That was my thoughts exactly the detail was brilliant the quests had a bit more depth to them ,especially the lady grey one even though it was a little creepy o_O, i read the story itself and did wonder why he was so keen to specify theres another 3 games, i thought it would have made sense to just give some details of fable 3 assuming it is in progress at the minute, ah well, the minds of developers work in mysterious ways, or so the voices in my head tell me

Bigger maps, more locations, more freedom less railroading, the ability to kill evil characters rather than forcing you to become their allies, fucking Reaver should have shot him where he stood.

Not so overly black and white karma choices, no random 10 year aside to do something stupid rather than just killing the big bad when you get the chance. Better character development, better skill allocation, better controls, some kind of proper character customisation.

All in all I enjoyed both the games but I would have enjoyed them a hell of a lot more with the above additions.

Scar bunny with the reaver point you read my mind, i think the biggest dissapointment for me was at the end of the game you kill the "big bad boss" with a motherfucking pistol, its like "dude i could have done that earler on" i thought they should have made it at least a bit of a challenge, instead of just watchin those useless ponces you found getting their energy zapped

Well I can't really see it happening, if they were to pull out 3 extra games I'm sure they'd all sell well and the games wouldn't be terrible, but it would be overkill of a good series. It'll be interesting to see where they go with this statement

If he just takes the criticism and opens his eyes yet wider we could play some decent RPGs. And variety ,we need variety in each one.

I think Peter Moulinex only said that to 1up to support the internet Deja Nazi's, in the far future well be linking to this thread stating the release thread for fable 5 has already been done, use the search button fool.

I'm not a big fan of knowing how far a series is going to go, it spoils the mystery, take the METAL GEAR* series, it was supposed to end with MGS2.

Or the TV series Lost, when the script writers admitted they had 7 series worth of scripts it stopped me watching.

METAL GEAR? metal gear!?
METAL GEAR!

jesus i hope they stop at 3..or if 3 is good 4.

If they actually added some of the support spells from the first game that would help. (you have no idea how pissed i was when i saw there wasnt a beserk spell anymore.) If your gonna put kids in the game let me kill them when they say "you cant catch me!" for hundreth time while im doing the blacksmith job!!!

I loved the origanal Fable.

Fable 2 was muh at best.

Can't say I'm excited for a 3rd game let alone a 4th or 5th.

The strange thing about Fable 2 is it contains everything Fable 1 said it would for the most part, and is a worst game for it. I prefered it when Lionhead where making games without all the features they promised because...you know, they where actually good games?

Fable 2 was disappointing, but I still enjoyed the game. The trouble is that Molyneux has hyped up the games to be revolutionary when they arent.

For a normal game, they're good. For a game to revolutionalise this console generation, they're a fail.
