Ok, so I've talked earlier on this forum about me not liking the new Fallout-game. I've decided that I might give it another try, but this time; for PC.

A friend of mine got this game before I bought it, and he talked about all the possibilities regarding the appearance of my character. I was hugely disapointed when I got the game, and found out that the three characters I made (1 female, 2 male) all looked pretty much the same after lots of time spent tweaking.

Another thing I disliked about the game, was the lack of weapons. I wanted more. Early on in the game, I had done a couple of quests and already I owned the most powerful guns of the game. This meant that I had pretty much the upper hand when it comes to fighting mutants, BOS and even Deathclaws.

I have decided that I might give this game another chance; another try. This is because, these "faults" I have mentioned, Is bound to get fixed by different mods! I completely forgot about mods ob the Pc, and I was reminded of this when I was playing Oblivion today. These things, player appearance and my guns, lots of guns-issue will probably be resolved by others that want the same as me.

Weapons and appearances can be achieved through mods (but there are other issues I have with thr game that will not be fixed by a mod).
Are there any mods like this for me to give Fallout 3 a second chance? Can you point me in the direction of any mods, or give me some examples of weaponery mods and mods that add guns(lots of guns) and mods that alter appearances (e.g "natural faces"(created by MaboroshiDaikon) from Oblivion).

I know that if you install the expansions there are new weapons.

Point Lookout gave me a new rifle and a new shothun and I was only there for like an hour or so.

Otherwise, at Fallout 3 Nexus they have mods, I'm guessing you'll find what you need there (hint: look at the top 100 list)

If you're looking for mods that add more guns, check out FOOK (Fallout Overhaul Kit) and FWE (Fallout Wanderers Edition). I don't know many cosmetic mods, maybe Project Beauty HD (but that might only change NPCs)

I see a bunch of mods that add lots of guns. This might be my ticket back to playing "Fallout 3". Mods like "Modern Day Weaponary" and "FOOK 2". Thanks :)

There is a really interesting surival mod that forces you to find food, fresh water and sleep to survive. It can really add to the immersion and difficulty of the game.

As with Oblivion and Morrowind before it, the mods turn an okay/decent game into something fantastic.

Ok, thanks everybody. I just downloaded "FOOK" , "FWE" and some other mods. The game is already looking much better, and I am enjoying it more. By adding more weapons (loats of weapons) and altering the looting-, leveling- and gameplaysystem, I have created a NEW game thanks to all the talented modders. KNOW(edit:not "no") ammo is scarce, and some raiders share the same handgun, making it feel more unique. I now need to eat, sleep and drink to stay healthy, and when people are crippled, they actually break/lose their limbs.

Any other suggestions? Some mod I have missed?

Wait, you didn't like Fallout 3? Well, you might be the first non-NMO member to feel like that. Personally, I liked it.
No, he's not. I'm fairly certain there was quiet a few people in this forum alone that didn't like Fallout 3, most with some fairly good points. I liked it too, however, but you don't see me singling people out because I disagree. The only reason I quoted you was because your post was off-topic and generally unhelpful.

OT:

Well, I got mine on PS3, so as far as mods go, I'm afraid I can't help. However, if you want some help finding all the pre-existing secrets in the game, heres a helpful site.

The new Fallout has been released already?!
No... if you read the first couple of post you'll soon realiza that I have given Fallout 3 a second chance. I have done this by trying it for the PC and adding different game altering mods.

BAH! this game is whack anyway! most of the ambient wasn't made according to the fallout bible, and Bethesda blew their chance on it... that's why Obsidian is now making another game, which from the look of it, apart from the same engine, has much more depth than it's predecessor.

i haven't said they'll blew it neither.

There are also other good mods for sound, ambience, music, textures and gameplay tweaks. It
may take you a few days to look through all of them (but its worth it).

Get "Owned!"
This mod lets you have more property than story given apartments.

For example, if you have enough caps you can purchase Moriarty's Saloon and have an income from it every 3 days, or you can just kill Colin(should be easy, he is such a jerk) and Nova without making townsfolk aggressively suspicious(there are many ways to do that) and claim it as your own bar. This mod works the same way with most property in the game which has a designated NPC owner.

I've tried many mods out there, and ended up with pretty much the same setup as yours, FOOK+FWE+Owned!
I didn't care much for appearance mods however, I've tried a few and could not find any which would not break the game feel, Fallout if not the place for beautiful people.

I did not like original Fallout 3 all that much and only played it once through the story quest, mods and it's great community are to thank for it's revival for me.

"Owned!" ? I might check that one out.

I like mods that add weapons. I really like the thrill of finding new weapons to use and "upgrade"/repair. Also I wanted the game to be more difficult. When I played the original "vanilla" game for my PS3, I got really surprised how easy it was. I found my first Deathclaw and planned a thorough plan on how to kill him, layed a bunch of mines, and readied a bunch of grenades. I ran up to him, shot him with my shotgun... and he died...? (I had not altered my difficulty setting).

I've downloaded some beauty mods, but your right! Fallout is not a place for beautiful people, I just wanted the nude skins :p

Come on, dude.

Fallout 3 has more guns than any other game bar Borderlands.

Not including special weapons, there are:

2 Assault Rifles
1 silenced assault rifle
3 shotguns
hunting rifle
.44 rifle
sniper rifle
railway rifle
backwater rifle
gauss rifle

.44 scoped magnum
chinese pistol
.32 pistol
10mm pistol

minigun
fatman
rocket launcher
flamethrower

lazer rifle
plasma rifle
lazer pistol
lazer rifle

and that's just off the top of my head, I've probably left out a few

My sincerest apologies, I grew up in the Southern United States, talk about bad grammar, jesh. I figured you were attempting some slang that came out wrong. Sorry.
