There is no run button for ps3 at least, so if its real slow, then over encumbered or in crouch..
If it's a snail's pace you're moving at, I'd say you're just over encumbered. Just drop what you don't need.
If you're looking for a sprint button like you get in most other FPS's, you're out of luck, as the game doesn't come with one. Kind of a pain, I know. Running out of minigun fire would be a lot easier if you could sprint.
