Tell us about your adventures off the beaten path in the Capital Wasteland, little things you stumbled across that not many people would know about.

One that sticks in my mind was climbing a hill to find a car on top of it, with two skeletons lying hand in hand on the bonnet, as if they lay there together watching the bombs fall...

...romantic.

Alas, I cannot find it anymore. I think it's near Big Town somewhere.

EDIT: Finaly found it. It's between Tenpenny Tower and Evergreen Mills, near an undergound bunker and radio transmitter.

Share your discoveries!

some stuff was a bit sad, like when i find a radio saying that there's a family nearby that needs medical atention, when i get there there's a ghoul and two sceletons.

or the audio logs in little lamplight, where the teacher talks and says that everyone has left the cave and never returned, then you find one by the kids saying the recorder (the person recording) left too. and that the kids wanted in the vault and were ignored by a man who thought he was insane and went insane from that.

i thought bethesda did a good job with that. better then the books and notes in oblivion, i didn't have the time to read them.

One of my favourite moments like this was when I first arrived in minefield. I was shot at by a sniper, so I went into a house to take cover. I noticed the house had a trail of blood leading to the door and a bloody handprint on the door. When I went into the house, lying on the floor of the main room was a dead raider, minus a leg. He had obviously been shot at by the sniper, and, critically wounded, crawled into the house and died shortly after.

The jumpsuit from Vault 77, found in Paradise Falls.

Sadly, no hand puppet came with it.

The andale place was a bit disturbing, seeing as the kid would of had to marry his uhh cousin I think.

The first time Dogmeat died; I was so attached to him that I had to reload my previous save to prevent his death.

Found a fridge out in the middle of nowhere, with two dudes fighting over it. Unfortunately 'out in the middle of nowhere' happened to be pretty close to Old Olney, so they quickly turned into the bits of two dudes.

It was really surreal encountering a fridge, just sitting there, monolithic.

(Edited since my browser decided to post the same thing twice)

Also fired a random railway rifle shot off once. Heard the experience points cha-ching. Curious!
Wandered over to it and found Sam Warrick's head pinned to the wall.

Defintely Andale. (I passed the speech check, and they're still standing there.)
But also on a somewhat related note, in bioshock, in the wine cellar in poseidon's reach, there's a body behind a locked gate, with a shotgun in his hands in a way that looked like he just fired it at the area below his chin, and killed himself intentionally.

I haven't played this game in a very long time, and I found this little gem around the first time playing, and I could never find it again. So my memory could be a little foggy. If anyone has found this place, please correct me. I honestly can't remember the whole story.

Oh well, here goes.

I was walking off the beaten path, and I found a little street of houses. I figured "I'll go in"

I do, and it was this nice family that had a clean home. Very normal. I looked around, and noticed the Basement was locked with a pretty high lockpicking skill level to open it.

I was specialized in lockpicking.

I make sure no one is looking, and I go in. I see nothing at first, and then I walk downstairs to see a table with a corpse on it, missing a few limbs with other body parts over the room. I found a ripper (My very first!) and then in an act of justice for those killed, I walked up and killed the family. It was liberating.

Edit: Apparently its called Andale, thank you to those who told me.

The Dunwich building. Really creepy, and full of H P Lovecraft references. Reminds me of Hackdirt in Oblivion. Bethesda must love Lovecraft.

I've logged over 200 hours in the game and have all the DLC available. Where do I start?

One of the most distrbing ones was in point lookout. I was on a mission, and I was being chased through the boardwalk by sharp-shooters on the roofs. I was injured pretty bad so I took cover, and then made a break for a nearby door. It was a motle room, and it was filled with blood and skeletons that had been set in an arrangement, and an axe sitting on the middle of the bed. I looked in the bathroom, and inside of the tub, there was a skeleton lying down inside. And in it's lap was the mask of the Pint-Sized Slasher.

I'll post some more later.

Ah yes, you speak of Andale. The small cannibal settlement. Yea, raiders don't go near that place.

I remember coming across a guy called "The Roach King sitting on a "throne" (an old chair on top of a pile of garbage) in the middle of nowhere. He was surrounded by radroaches, which he sent to attack me when I got too close.

One time I found a random house with two bedrooms the first was a kid's room that had an owned bed in it. The other bedroom had an unowned queen sized bed with two skeletons lying in it.

I was amused by the fact that some programmer thought it would be funny to make you either move the skeletons or sleep with them.

Thank you, and thank you to the other person who corrected me as well.
