So I picked up the game pretty late (got it for like $15) and I've played through most the main story and just got my first piece of DLC last night.
I'm really tempted to say that this is one of the greatest games I've ever played..... too bad theres a bug around every goddamn corner. I see why the critics were so pissed off by it. The bugs not only forced me to replay things numerous times but they even F***ed up some of my missions (characters not being where they were supposed to/not letting me speak to them)
It really is a shame that this game came so close to being immortalized in my game collection (which it still might be) but just knowing how many bugs I'm going to run into on my next playthrough makes me just a bit annoyed. Anybody else got the New Vegas Blues?

You're not very lucky it seems, my last playthrough was pestilence free. Apart from a few graphical glitches. And that one faceless guy in the Mormon Fort who kept trying to kill me.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but in all the months I've been playing I have only gotten 2 crash to desktops, and one time I got stuck in a rock. This was also with me playing the dlc the day they released.

As it is, it's definitely in my top 10 favorite games.

I guess not, my game likes to freeze on me regularly. A lot of times when moving from one area to next right before an autosave <.< and every now and then in the middle of combat right after one of those "zoom in" kills.

Could it be a 360 thing? Or maybe the game just doesn't like the perks I've picked.

No, the plot is still somewhat poor and suffers from a few game design flaws like the use of the invisible walls, which has a big impact on it being a open world game.

if it didn't have so many bugs it would have been my favorite game ever.
story wise it's pretty much perfect.

I must repeat this sentiment.
The worst I've experienced (outside of the game freezing once or twice) was a Radscorpion stuck in the ground and a quest that may have bugged out (the quest where you need to find the dogtags in the irradiated town, I couldn't find the last so either it didn't spawn like it should have or the ghoul ran off or spawned somewhere outside of town and I just couldn't find it).

I encountered no bugs in my play through whatsoever and yet it's still FAR from the best game ever made. I saw NV as more of a "This is what fallout 3 should have been" game.

Ok, clearly this game hates your guts, or doesn't like autosaving. Lazy bastard.

I like New Vegas so far, I've had a few problems though, maybe 3 crash to desktops and about 5 times where it failed to load my save, causing me have to reboot since for some reason it thinks it's more important than task manager. Other than a few enemies going into rocks and freaking NPCs out it's pretty solid.

Well. I meant that that as an example not as an entire list of glitches I've faced.. I've seen plenty, though (I wouldn't say more than 20, but I didn't count every one). xD

You know, it's funny, I've seen maybe one or two extremely minor glitches in the time I've had the game.

However, I don't consider this the best game ever. It's a very good game, but it's not the best.

I guess I'm lucky, because I've only had one or two freezes in my first playthrough, whenever I get around to my second I suppose I won't be haveing to many problems.

Far from the greatest. Fallout 3 was a much better game all around and I could play it for hours nonstop. New Vegas was good, but not worth more than 20$ as far as i'm concerned.

Either that or it was pissed that I killed Benny and Mr.House..... and wiped out everybody in the main Legion camp lol.

Hmm iunno. 3 was awesome but I feel like I have much more control over the world of New Vegas which in turn has made it much more fun for me.

Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 3 just with a shit ton of bugs that make the game practically unplayable, and just not as good as Fallout 3 in well, every other area. That pretty much describes my experience with New Vegas. Fallout 3 was a great game that i didn't expect to enjoy, let alone play for months on end. Everything I did enjoy in New Vegas I enjoyed just as much if not more in Fallout 3. Keep in mind, i got New Vegas for the ps3 5 months after it came out and it was still unbelievably buggy. There's no excuse for why they didn't release updates to fix the issues after 5 damn months.

Yea, and I miss the random encounters too.
It's too bad, I thought that big patch they released six months after the game launched was supposed to fix most of the problems. I guess not.

Glitches by the Number,
Bugs by the score,
every day I play it less,
'cause each day it crashes more,
Glitches by the number,
It's a game I can't win,
'Caus the quests I do stop counting,
and the game picks when to end.

Heartache number one was when they left me
I never knew companions go away
And then at vault twenty two
Was when I found them again
Got them back but couldn't make them stay

Yes, I've got
Glitches by the Number,
Bugs by the score,
every day I play it less,
'cause each day it crashes more,
Glitches by the number,
It's a game I can't win,
'Caus the quests I do stop counting,
and the game picks when to end.

Endless Loading Screen
was what would halt me
And one side of those Vegas gates I stay
With cowboy hat
I waited for what's beyond the door
I waited but could not go on my way
