So did the publishers give them time to make it or will it suck because of it being rushed or cutting corners. like obsidan is known for doing

I think if they took there time this could easly be a game of the year

I'm pretty sure this has been done to death.
Bethesda will give them time, I'm probably going to be playing a demo on Friday, so, yeah, I look forward to it. I'm sure it'll all work the way it's meant to.

Also you mean publishers, not developers.

I honestly don't know. On one hand its an Obsidian game, so the story will be far better than Fallout 3's.

On the other hand, its an Obsidian game. On a Bethesda engine. It will most likely be bugged to all hell and might have a crappy ending.

I'm adopting the "wait and see" approach to it. Since if there are ass-loads of bugs, by the time I get it the mod-community will have most of them fixed.

I think it will suck but Halo: Reach surprised me by being my favorite Halo game so I'm open to suggestion.

Eh....it will lose my interest easily just like fallout 3 did. [sub] was too easy and once you've found it all there is really no point in doing it again...[/sub]

It's coming with a Hardcore Mode which should add an extra level of difficulty. You have to eat, drink and sleep to survive (so no running around for 48 hours straight on a diet of Stimpaks), Stimpaks heal over time rather than straight away, and ammo actually has a weight, limiting how much you can carry. No effect on damage or anything (I assume difficulty comes into that) but it should make it interesting as it will force you to tweak your playstyle.

What this guy said. I expect a good story with improved mechanics over FO3, but bugs up the ass and a sub-par ending which they had to rush because they spent too much time elsewhere; an ending which the mod community will then 'correct' for them.

I loved KotOR2 and think it was actually a better game than KotOR1. Obsidian have shown to me they can be good developers, so I'm hoping they can recapture some of the magic again. Either way, I'm fairly certain it will be a superior game to FO3 and as such am looking forward to it.

I'm expecting a proper Fallout experience, probably with most of the insanely annoying bugs and glitches and memory leaks and such from fallout 3.

I dunno I didn't like Fallout 3 so I probably won't like this one... than again Obsidian has never made a truly bad game, all of their games have been decent or at least not so bad that I didn't finish them...

Here's the big question about New Vegas though: Have they added a diagonal movement animation?

I'm going to play it. Fallout is one of those series that honestly needs more love, and I'm just going to have to do so, single-handedly if I must.

And really, when my choices are "Fallout expansion pack" or "Final Fantasy IV", I think I'll stick with Fallout and not have to deal with the weeaboo army.

Enjoyed Fallout 3. For anyone who thinks NV will be diffrent, it won't it will be the same as F3 just with new features I suppose it's a sort of expansion pack in a way. (What the hell happened to proper expansion packs anyway, now it all seems to just be DLC which is mostly crap like horse armour anyway.)

Would have defienatly bought it not for steam getting their bloatted, greasy mitts on it. Shame. lost my £30.

On Fallout 3:
Should I get the version for the XBox 360 that comes with all the DLC for 68 Australian dollars? (60 if there's a pre-owned edition)

No, I won't get a PC version because I'm on a Mac.
No, I won't get a PC because I like my laptop and my old Windows was a buggy piece of turdburgers (but just that laptop, the desktops are good)

I'm excited to play FONV, I loved 3 and even if NV is like an updated FO3 then I'll be happy. I preordered the game back in Spring.

I know people are scared because it's what happened with KoToR 1 to 2, but I thought 2, while having a WAY more obnoxious opening than 1, was a great game. So if it's like that again, it should be good.

Very few times do I go in expecting the game to pop onto my top 10 list, I'm seriously expecting NV to tie or take the place that FO3 is holding in my top 3

Potential Game of the Year. Also potential buggy, unfinished mess that's not worth the bandwidth required to download it off of Steam. Could go either way. Obsidian has a terrible track record, but up to now they've used their publishers as an excuse. Bethesda's a strong publisher with a major vested interest in the franchise; I truly believe that they're not going to rush a game if it means taking potential preorder customers away from Fallout 4 (or Elder Scrolls 5) due to the lost good will.

So if Obsidian screws THIS up, they're going on the developer scrap heap. I've got the game preordered on Steam, so it's obvious where my faith lies.

this game is really odd imo, it honestly has the premise to be game of the fucking year, or it can be the biggest squashed turd you have ever seen and could squash obsidian out of ever having any merit to do anything good again.

im expecting
*great story
*great features/customizing above fallout 3
*obsidian + bethesda = buggy as hell
* lots of replay/mods to mess with

overall im satisfied if i get that, so we will have to wait another 3-1/2 weeks or so to see if it lives up to what is being hyped.
