I always hear these people clam that they are 'making a switch to a different game'. The most notable example of this is with cod and battlefield. Now i can understand not wanting the new cod because of things like the subscription fee, but its another thing to say "im switching to battlefield". I wasn't aware that you can only play a single game. I play cod and battlefield and enjoy them equally. Its just cod fanboys annoying me i guess lol.

Anyway, i also wanted to comment on the supposed 'hacking of sony' that is supposed to be happening at this very moment. I honestly doubt that they would announce it on twitter, and wouldnt it be easy to trace? The people who hacked sony are wanted and they admitted to hacking a branch. If it is happening i doubt that they are having much success due to the fact that they announced it publicly.

What are your thoughts on either thing?

I'm not really sure if this is related, but to this day I have never purchased or played CoD MW2 over the whole no dedicated servers on PC thing...

No but the game are similar enough that most people see no reason to own both. And if one gives an inferior product it's natural to shift to the other.

With really obsessive players of games like Call of Duty a big part of the experience is that all their friends play it too so they can take part in matches online together for hours on end. That's probably why they make it sound like a big deal when they 'switch' to a different game because for them it's like abandoning an entire community.

Lots of COD players only play COD, due to a number of reasons which I won't go here.

Thing is, COD (and let's face it, any multiplayer game) has huge potential to frustrate you, and people often react to particularly bad sessions with hyperbole and 'I'm never playing this game again' - I should know, I've done it loads of times :D

The thing is, is you don't actually have to buy Elite.
It's for the guys who want stats for everything, play in tournaments, and just show off their skills.

On the hacker thing, LulZsec already hacked PBS, so they kinda know what they are doing. I have some doubt that they actually managed to hack Sony, again, but I really doubt that they are going to claim to have hacked Sony, again, without any sort of proof.

I've rented Call of Duty MW2 and plan on getting the MW1&2 2-pack. I still prefer Reach though. I've played the Killzone 3 demo and thought that was hella fun. I disliked Resistance. I'm also STILL waiting for a price drop on Bulletstorm.

Point: I'm not a fanboy and think snobbery among game-players is childish to the point of stupidity.

I'm also confused as to the ire Sony has inspired in that group of Hackers. What has Sony ever done to anyone? Other than axing the Medieval franchise I mean.

fourzerotwo said that the subscription won't be mandatory, just optional, you can still play multiplayer and buy map packs and stuff.
