Favorite anime music

So I was listening to the awesome DBZ Bruce Faulconer soundtrack and thought I'd make a thread on awesomme anime music.

My top pick would have to be Libera Me From Hell from Gurren Lagann. Such an epic song, stirs so many emotions of awesomeness whenever I listen to it.

My favorite songs from DBZ are:
-Super Buu Theme
-Gohan Powers Up
-Imperfect Cell theme
-Super Saiyan 3 theme
-Vegeta Super Saiyan theme


The JoJo's Bizarre Adventure OST is awesome too. The Stardust Crusaders OST sounds epic so far especially Kakyoin's theme

I'm a huge sucker for those that have either a really cool guitar track or just amazing vocals. Everything on this list I listen to outside of the beginning and endings of episodes.

I agree with Libera Me from Hell... but I think my favorite anime music would be Kill la Kill, mostly Don't Lose Your Way and Blumenkranz. Super Buu's theme was also great, props to that. And Cruel Angel Thesis was great back when I watched NGE

But after Kill la Kill I'd say Fairy Tail. Not any specific song, but just a lot of their music I really enjoy. It is a huge draw to the anime that might be pretty bland for me if not for that great music.

Not enough anime music threads on The Escapist.

I've been on a GARNiDELiA kick as of lately. For those that don't know, she did the second opening to Kill la Kill as well as the opening theme for the incredibly "meh-tastic" Mekakucity Actors. Sadly, there aren't any decent versions of Ambiguous, so just take the Mekakucity Opening because it's just as cool.

Also, it would be a shame to not mention any Fullmetal: Brotherhood openings here. I already know people are going to post the first one, but that's okay because I like the second and third ones a lot more.

I fucking cried when they used this in the ending.
The third opening is so weird with its disco sound, but it grew on me a whole lot.

And even though it's been forever since I've watched, the Nichijou openings will forever be ear-worms.

AND AS FOR SOUNDTRACKS: There are not a whole lot of shows that really draw my attention to the music unless it's crazy unique or just crazy in general.

As for my favorite soundtrack, FLCL is a stand-out above all of the rest. Garage-band quality alt. rock fucking rules. I love every single track in the show. Here are a few of my faves.

The score to Azumanga Daioh is pretty great all around, but these two tracks are particularly masterful.

Joe Hishaishi is also a joy to listen to. His soundtrack to Spirited Away is a masterpiece, and the track 'The Boy Who Drank Stars' from Howl's Moving Castle always leaves me in tears.

I agreed with Gurren Lagaan, infact I got the OST CD disk when I bought the special edition dvd (a must have for me)!

Among my other favourite OST are Panty and Stocking (Fly away Now, Chocolate and Scanty and Kneesock theme), One Piece, Bleach (to a certain degee) Jojo's Bizzare Adventure, Soul Eater, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop Ghost in the Shell: SAC, Fairy Tail, Persona 4 the animation and etc.

Also Eureka 7 AO should definitely get an honourable mention, sure the anime suck so bad buy by god the OST is the only saving grace to that anime (but not enough to redeem it)!

Of course this is my best, since it can beat up your feels WAY too much.

It is just great because it is like it is telling the story before it happens, but when it starts, it is like an explosion of happiness! That and it makes a darn good opening for the protagonist and main heroine, especially when mixed with the animation.
