I think everybody has got excited watching a movie or music video when they saw somebody else in entertainment they like. What were your favorite examples of those? If anybody says Rob Schneider saying "you can do it" in forty other movies I will hate you with every last part of me.

i really despise cameos, especially in television series.

i hate them even more when they are then the reason for an 4th wall breaking joke.

I'll try to think of the exception that proves the rule and get back at you.

Bill fucking Murray in Zombiland. I don't like the actor personally but I liked his role in the movie.
I seriously just don't count that one... i mean he's in it for a good third of the movie, and... lets face it, the best third.
Still a cameo though, he plays himself....

The Black version of Wade (the bassist from Alexisonfire) in their video 'Hey its your funeral mama' - cant remember his name but he is a musician

Any Alexisonfire fan must appreciate the ultimate coolness that went into that song

Mike Myers in Inglourious Basterds.
Actually, that ended up being one of the worst parts of the movie for me. Not because it was bad. Not because I don't like Mike Myers. Not because of bad acting. Just simply because I'm sitting there, see Mike Myers (in what I thought was a pretty bad make-up job), and it just became Austin Powers for me. And it wasn't funny, so it wasn't like a good bit from Austin Powers. It just completely weirded me out. Note: I love Mike Myers, Austin Powers, and Inglourious Basterds. Just not together.

OT:Anything with Cristopher Walkin in it. Morgan Freeman makes great cameos as well. And, in glorious geek fashion, Will Wheaton is usually pretty funny (outside of actual Star Trek canon anyways).

Patrick Stewart (Playing the Voice of Peter on one episode of Family Guy) probably beats them all, especially when he says the best line I've ever heard.

"Sorry About the mess in the upstairs bathroom this morning, Lois. My Post-Pee sex stream forked in half and got everywhere."

Patrick Stewart could tell me I'm going to die of a rare disease and I'd be glad he said it.

And Ben Stiller in the same episode.

Ordinarily, Family Guy is a show I don't praise much anymore, but Dwayne Johnson on the last episode was awesome as hell.

My girlfriend hates when I quote that. I love doing it anyway though.

Samuel L. Jackson in Kill Bill and Ben Stiller in Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. Good for you Ben Stiller, good for you.

Well I think we all know the king of cameos in the film industry, so with that said my vote goes to every cameo in It's a mad, mad, mad mad world. That bit where Jerry Lewis ran over the guys hat, or when those two blokes crashed the plane, the fire department showed up with firemen Moe, Larry and Curly.

But in terms of movies that weren't made half a century ago I'd have to say seeing Leonard Nimoy in the recent Star Trek film was a real highlight. Oh and I've heard that Steve Urkel made an appearance on an episode of family matters.

EDIT: Oh and to the OPs credit Back to School is a hilarious film. It was the first one I downloaded off the new Zune service on xbox live and I highly reccomend it.
