Ok, there has been a recession in much of the world as of the last decade. As such, people have little or no money, and have to cut corners on expenses, and one way to do it is food. What is one food you find least-inferior or most-enjoyable when you have to tighten your belt?

Personally, I like instant Ramen noodles. Canned tuna is good too.

Peanut Butter: It can be an appetizer (w/ Crackers). It can be a main course (Peanut Butter marinated beef). It can be desert (peanut butter and oreo cookies).

I make my own pizza and Yorkshire pudding - often I can survive on both of those (and beer, obviously) for weeks at a time.

Bag of no-name rice, bag of no-name frozen veggies, thing of tofu, bottle of Worcestershire sauce, lemon pepper, olive oil. Boil the veggies, put lemon pepper on 'em. Make the rice, pan-fry the tofu w/Worcestershire sauce, mix it. The ingredients last weeks (tofu needs to be bought every couple of days) and costs under $20.
