What is your favorite comic book character? Mine is Deadpool because he is an awesome, badass, funny package.

One word: Batman.
Edit: OR possibly Wolverine. At his best-written, he is macho without being stupid.

Does what a spider can!

If I was a super hero, I'd like to think I'd be the smart, witty and humourous Spider-Man.

You're going to get a lot of Batman's, and you're going to get a lot of people dissing on Batman because so many people are saying Batman.

Me? While I love Batman, I will forever be a diehard Gambit fan.

Live by the card, die by the card.

Dr. Strange has a great arc in his backstory (arrogant surgeon gets his comeuppance) and is now Earth's Sorcerer Supreme. As if that wasn't bad ass enough, he was also the founder and leader of the original Defenders, which is objectively speaking, the most amazing super hero team ever.

Also, he has a mustache.

I'm going with the OP and saying Deadpool. The 4th wall breaks, insane dialog and general nuttiness makes him one of the most fun characters out there.

And to add to that he is also living breathing deus ex machina, and that just makes him even more cool

Gotta be Spiderman. He manages to have damage and a personal vendetta against injustice WITHOUT being darker than Marmite flavored coal *cough Batman cough*

I'd have to go with Morpheus. There are more likable characters throughout The Sandman, but Dream is one of a kind.
Well, not exactly, but you know what I mean.

Also, he has the benefit of being written by one person.

Note the second part of my name :) The Ragin' Cajun is the coolest comic book character bar none. He's exactly the right mix of awesome, heroic, bad-ass, flawed and amoral with charm and a romantic streak that no other characters can match. 'Nuff said!

For me, it'd include Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Gambit, Hulk, She-Hulk, Doctor Strange, Woverine, Deadpool, and Hellboy.

(What? We're not just counting Marvel and DC characters, are we?)

Well, i do not think that i have a favorite character (despite reading comic books since i was 5), but i have favorite interpretation of famous characters.

Superman: The All-star version. Perhaps the single greatest version of Superman ever, not only does the story embody everything that Superman is, but his personality and mannerism and EVERYTHING is perfect, in short: hes the way Superman should be.

Spider-man: post-BND. Spider-man always had a special place in my heart, but after many years of JMS he had become dull, with every story-arc centering around HOW MUCH HE WUVS MARY JANE and how he couldn't live without her and blablabla. Shit got depressing real fast, so they revamped him, gave him a kick-ass supporting cast of likable characters and made him fun, that's right, FUN.

Batman: Year 100. This is kind of what i imagine Batman would be:
[img src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_TaqHRVqr160/SVUXEJPcMZI/AAAAAAAACB0/CfotYkH8VDE/s400/Batman_Year_100_01-50.jpg]
...in that he actually tries to scare the criminals, instead of the classic "don't drop me!" approach thats been done to death. Here he is dressed in practical clothings, does not come off as too high-tech (Ra's Al Ghul once found out about Batmans true identity by comparing the list of Gotham's billionaires with the list of people who import stuff Batman might need), which helps make him believable.

Wolverine: He suffers too much from Mary sue-syndrome by being this totally perfect and uber-badass samurai/ninja/commando and who is always serious (extra points for wearing a hat that conceals his eyes), but the one series that made him a likable character? Astonishing X-men. Wolverine + beer = hilarity, and they were not afraid of making fun of his cliched persona.

Too bad Bendis can't write Dr. Strange for shit (assuming he can write anything good these days). Dr. Strange's treatment in recent years has been insulting and the lore surrounding the "Sorcerer Supreme" and the Eye of Agamotto have been tarnished. I really hope you have not been subjected to this, because as a fellow Strange fan I will tell you... its been a very painful experience. :(

Anyway, on topic. My favorites include Iron Man, Nova (Richard Rider), and Super-Skrull. I know Kl'rt isn't exactly a HERO per se, but he's helped save the galaxy a few times and he's super badass :3

I have to admit that i read my share of the deadpool comics and enjoyed them

But my favourite in herocomics always was spidey, from childhood on.

IF all comics count i have to give my vote to either MAX or HOBBES.
I go for the tiger here.

I may be wrong but i'm pretty sure that Captain America does have super strength and the like.
