Favorite Disney Song

So I'm sitting here messing around on the Escapist while my boyfriend and one of our room mates play Star Trek Online when one of them starts whistling. And suddenly I realize I know the song, and then suddenly all three of us are humming it. It was the opening song to the Disney version of Robin Hood. I frequently find myself humming or whistling it at work. Of all the great Disney songs out there, this is the one I find myself drawn to over and over again.

So, Escapists, I'm curious: Which Disney song is YOUR favorite, and why?

Edit: Bells of Notre Dame and I Want To Be Like You (Jungle Book) are close seconds. Louis Prima for the win.

That song just makes me happy. Favorite movie in the world. A few friends even have it set as the ring tone for when I call. But it has no lyrics, so most people don't count it.


From Ella Enchanted, released by Miramax (which is under the Disney umbrella). Anne's voice is awesome.

I love the all powerful Bells Of Notre Dame intro in the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I reckon it created the most dramatic intro out of all the Disney movies.


They really knew how to make powerful and catchy songs back then.

'A Whole New World' from Aladdin. No contest. I loved that movie so much when I was a kid.

I watched it, got more snacks then watched it again.

Also most of the songs from The Lion King. Can't go wrong with Circle of Life and Be Prepared.

Ooh, and 'Beauty and the Beast'.

God, talk about a nostalgia trip...

I love how Poor Unfortunate Soul progresses from a slow sort of waltz into something more chaotic. I love the visuals to Friends on the Other Side (Also, it's Captain Anderson singing about how he communes with fucking demons) and, I love how humanizing Hellfire is. Frolo is scared for his very soul but can't keep the lust he feels at bay.

It's also one of the earliest films they made, and even to this day, Frolo as a villain freaks me out. D:

It's definitely a work of musical genius, though.

Hunchback was released in the 90's wasn't it? It was during the Disney Upswing but it wasn't exactly an early Disney film...it featured Jason Alexander after all and his heyday was during the Seinfeld run. Either way, absolutely love the song.
