History of Trunks and Bardock are the best ones. They had purpose beyond spectacle. Trying to do more with the characters than just spectacle.
They give Dragonball a broader history and bigger mythology.
Although Trunks and Goten do fight Nazi's in Fusion Reborn. So that does make the choice a little harder.

The ones I keep going back to are Cooler's Revenge, which I think is the best of the movies, and Bojack's Revenge. Although I don't think the latter is really all that great, I like watching it so much because it's the only movie (that I recall) in which adolescent Gohan just tears shit up.

Tree of Might is probably my favorite. The question of "what if Goku grew up Saiyan instead of human" always was an interesting one, and the movie does a pretty good job of offering a glimpse into what it might be like.
Cooler's Revenge. Granted I'm not the biggest DB/Z/GT fan and have only seen that one and Tree of Life...I think I may have seen a couple of the other early ones but I don't remember really.
The two Cooler movies were fucking awesome, Cooler is way better than Frieza in my book. The Bojack movie was awesome because as someone said already on this thread, Gohan tore shit up.

Yeah I'm going to have to say Bradock: The Father of Goku.
