Ok, so I'm pretty sure this question has been asked a million times before, but I'm new to posting, alright? =P

For me, it would have to be Okami for the PS2 and Wii (though I've only played the PS2 version). I loved just all of the overall elements blending together to create such great characters, an awesome/funny story, amazing music, and just... everything about it!

So hey, what's your favorite game and why?

Hmmm....There are many.
Fallout, because it was the first game i played where you can do anything you want.
Planescape: Torment, it has the best plot and writing of any game I've played.
Warcraft 2, because it was my first strategy game.
The Longest Journey, best adventure game of all time.

I could go on for a while, but those are some of them.

I have played it for hundreds of hours, it was the first game I really got into as a kid and I still play it on occassion a decade later. Yeah it has to be my favourite game.

I don't have a single favorite, but if I had to choose just one then I'd say Halo: Reach.

Great campaign full of wonderful set-pices, battles, new characters, and music. And a very fun and addictive multiplayer that I can actually kick ass in.

Kingdom Hearts 2, probably. One of the only games I can remember getting uber-psyched for and actually getting better than I was expecting.
I'd list all the reasons, but I think "You get to play as Mickey Mouse with Yoda-style fighting moves to save your own ass when you die in a boss fight". Are any other reasons even needed?

Special shout outs to Okami, Team Fortress 2 before all the crappy unlockables and Psychonauts that I only got last week but is still awesomeness wrapped in epic.

I'd say the Mass Effect series.
Its just written so well and I've gotten so attached to the characters. I cant wait until the last one comes out so I can find out how it ends.

Team Fortress 2, because it gave me 500 hours of pure fun and I met a ton of great people through it.

[sub]Also, the music! Holy freaking crap, the music![/sub]

Half-life 2 and all the other games set in that universe. Reason for it includes the fantastic story, great shooting, well-told story and the fact that the immersion is never broken due to cutscenes, quick-time events and the like.

I'll have to mention two other titles, Planescape: Torment and Demon's Souls, first for the amazing story, second for the amazing gameplay.

Rome Total War when I was 12 :D

Recently Fallout:NV and MC2 and Napoleon Total War.

Most hours played... Napoleon - 163 hours, ME2 - 107 hours, Fallout:NV - 81 hours (I am not counting, steam told me).

Napoleon has it! Because you can't concur all of Europe once and be happy with yourself... you must then set all the taxes up to Maximum until EVERYONE rebels, just to challenge yourself one last time :D

There are many.
For the Nintendo 64 it was Golden eye James Bond.
Gamecube either Majoras Mask, Super Smash Bros melee or Tales of Symphonia
and
For the Wii so far maybe Okami, DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (with friends) and Red Steel 2 was fun althou a bit short.
Then of course Pokemon games for handhelds and Warcraft III for PC and now I am enjoying Lord of the Rings Online a bit from time to time.
Sorry I can't chose xD

The Mass Effect series because the story is so well told and the characters are interesting to the point that I actually care about what happens to them. Can't wait for ME3

Command & Conquer Red Alert 3.

I've always been a C&C fan, but to me, it was the first game to take all of the elements of the previous games and make it into a well-polished game. The gameplay is balanced, and yet all of the factions are extremely diverse.

Even though a lot of people are nit-picky against it, I still say it was the single most fun game I've ever played.

Fallout 1. It has the best atmosphere, the most freedom, the best setting of any game I've played. The only games I've played that come close to equalling it are Deus Ex and Planescape Torment, both of which have crushing flaws that seriously drag them down in comparison.

I can't just pick one game, there's way too many that deserve attention. If I HAD to pick though then I'd say:

1. Ocarina of Time
2. UT99, UT2004
3. The Elder Scrolls Series
4. Neverwinter Nights

There. Are you happy?

Anything where Tim Schafer was involved, really, but Brutal Legend especially... God that game is so much fun. I've played probably nearly 500 battles online, and yet something new and crazy seems to happen every time... Be it a new way I find to use a double team attack, or great timing of a solo, or a new strategy, or a hilarious line I've never heard before. It's just friggin' awesome, all around.
