just as the title says, what is your favorite or most meaningful quote from a movie play song ect. ect.

One of my favorites is from Julius Ceaser and is oddly enough included in the song "cry havoc" by EX DEO :p

O, pardon me, thou bleeding piece of earth,
That I am meek and gentle with these butchers!
Thou art the ruins of the noblest man
That ever lived in the tide of times.
Woe to the hand that shed this costly blood!
Over thy wounds now do I prophesy,--
Which, like dumb mouths, do ope their ruby lips,
To beg the voice and utterance of my tongue--
A curse shall light upon the limbs of men;
Domestic fury and fierce civil strife
Shall cumber all the parts of Italy;
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.

There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you. I been sayin' that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a ************ before you popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd.-Jules(Samuel L Jackson) from Pulp Fiction.

The entirety of Marcus Antonius' speech at Caesar's funeral just screams badass.

Turning an entire population against the conspirators who were hailed as heroes when they killed Caesar? Awesome.

And I remember everything,
Everything I loved,
I gave it away like it wasn't enough
All the words I said and all you forgive
How could I hurt you again?

What if I let you in?
What if I make it right it?
What if I give it up?
What if I want to try?
What if you take a chance?
What if I learn to love?
What if, what if we start again?

"Success is not measured by how many books you sell. Once you feel successful with what you done, then you're successful." --Dr. Seuss, from the one-act "Writer's Block".

Not quoted verbatim, but it was something along those lines.

heres another fav of mine its from the last boy scout

Nobody likes you. Everybody hates you. You're gonna lose. Smile, you fuck.
- Joe Hallenbeck (Bruce Willis)

Theres also this part from Apocalypse Now:

Kurtz: Did they say why, Willard, why they want to terminate my command?
Willard: I was sent on a classified mission, sir.
Kurtz: It's no longer classified, is it? Did they tell you?
Willard: They told me that you had gone totally insane, and that your methods were unsound.
Kurtz: Are my methods unsound?
Willard: I don't see any method at all, sir.
Kurtz: I expected someone like you. What did you expect? Are you an assassin?
Willard: I'm a soldier.
Kurtz: You're neither. You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.

"Happy people have no stories"
Stories by Therapy? That line always stuck with me.

"You should have asked her to dance."
-The Baxter (sure it's sappy, but I always think of that line when I am nervous about something)

Not all who wander are lost-Tolkien
He said the dead had souls, but when I asked him-How that could be-I thought the dead were souls. He broke my trance. Don't that make you suspicious?-That there's something the dead are keeping back? Yes, there's something the dead are keeping back. -Robert Frost"Two Witches"

Every hour wounds. The last one kills- a very old saying

'And that's all I got to say about that'

'Frankly my dear I don't give a damn'

Ha just kidding with you guys This is the best

He hath disgraced me, and hindered me half a million, laughed at my losses, mocked at my gains, scorned my nation, thwarted my bargains, cooled my friends, heated mine enemies; and what's his reason? I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? Fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?

If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. If a Jew wrong a Christian, what is his humility? Revenge. If a Christian wrong a Jew, what should his sufferance be by Christian example? Why, revenge. The villainy you teach me I will execute, and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction.

"Sometime or other everybody wishes everybody would go away.
Sometimes I'll wish you would go away.
What I'm telling you now is that even at those times, even if I tell you to go away,
you don't have to go away."

Speaker for the Dead, Orson Scott Card.

"The Ministry of Peace concerns itself with war, the Ministry of Truth with lies, the Ministry of Love with torture, and the Ministry of Plenty with starvation."

This line in Nineteen Eighty-Four always interested me, for some reason.

"Out, out brief candle. Life's but a walking shadow. A poor player who struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." -Macbeth
"The good a man does in life is oft buried with him, while the ill lives long after" -Julius Caesar
"Nothing seems real, you soon will feel, the world we live in is another Skalds dream in the shadows." -Skalds and Shadows
Yep, I like Shakespeare.
