Your Hot Pocket is done,
the phone rings,
or Canada invades your country.
Whatever the reason, sometime, or another, you've had to push that tiny pause button. So the question is... Which is your favorite?
It could be for any reason, maybe it provides you with important information like objectives, or a map; maybe it manages it makes sense game-wise and doesn't kill the immersion; maybe it provides tons of bonus information on the world like info on weapons, armor, character, and enemies; maybe it allows you to make critical decision while you have magically frozen time, like a weapon/spell/character change; and maybe, it just looks cool.
My personal favorite would the pause screen from the Super Smash Bros. series, it gives a clear view of the action in a movable camera form. I have never spent so much time purposely pausing a game.
