Favorite Rap Songs

I've noticed that not many around here likes rap, though I'm sure there are some who do, so I'm asking you guys this:
What's your favorite rap song? And why is it your favorite?
And for the sake of our internet connections, use spoilers.

I love this song because booty the theme is just hilarious, I like rap songs who don't take themselves too seriously.
Such as this one, which is a close second.

I'm a big sucker for Kid Cudi, Jay-Z and Kanye West, I'm fairly sure that's about as mainstream as you can get though.

I don't really listen to rap but I quite like Cypress Hill.

My love for rap only really goes as far as the Beastie Boys, if that counts.
I do like the uk-rap/hardcore band TRC though, although I guess they don't really count haha.

I don't have any one favourite Rap song as I like lots of older Rap, mostly stuff from the RZA & Wu-Tang Clan in it's many forms, be it group work, solo projects, side projects, collaborations, affiliations etc, so I have a plethora of "favourites" to choose from.

That being said, my current favourite Rap song isn't Wu-Tang related at all, more of a Cypress Hill offshoot, the Psycho Realm:

Apart from that, I replayed the first Saints Row last month and that pushed a couple of songs from it's soundtrack back into my favourites list, particular this one:

But in all honestly, because I like Rap from many countries from the 1990's and the decades before and after, there's far too many artists, albums and songs to list my favourites (not to mention not enough time or bandwidth).

If I participated in this tread a week or month from now, my "favourite" songs would be different (although still similar).

Love a lot of Eminems stuff, so glad I was around when one of the music legends were starting out. Also really like D12 and 2Pac.

Till I Colapse by Eminem is a favourite because I like most of the rhymes and it's one of his more powerful songs.

Brenda's Got A Baby by 2Pac is another favourite, it's really emotional and brings me to tears almost every time.

Fight Music by D12 my last favourite cause I always like something dark, and this one is pretty brutal as well as epic.

I don't really know much about rap though, but I really love this song. It's a great rap on Pachabel's Canon in D, and the the lyrics are rather deep.


It's isn't about " Bitches, my Nigga's and Bling Bling yo !". Which I find ridiculous.

Marc Predka from East Coast avengers is incredible. Neither of these songs are my favorite rap song ever, but he's in my top 5 favorite rappers ever and I feel the need to spread him whenever the opportunity arises.



A shame the genre is as disrespected as it is. Stuff like this doesn't really get the chance to shine and there is a shit ton more of it than everyone other than hip-hop/rap fans are aware of.
