As a child with limited money and an abundance in time, I had to make due with any game I could get my hands on, even if they were terrible. So buckled down and found joy in many games that were boring, broken, or just mediocre. I never noticed it at the time, but looking back, I didn't have much choice. Still, I came to enjoy some of them and a few made an impact on my life, like Zeus: Master of Olympus. Is this the case for any of you? Do you have games that are bad but you still like for any reason? Whether it's nostalgia or because of your peculiar tastes?

Pretty much half of my PS2 library. I loved those games as a kid and didn't acknowledge the flaws in them. I especially remember loving FF7: Dirge of Cerberus but apparently that game is shit on a shit burger and my child self should be ashamed for liking it.

EDF: Insect Armageddon
Technically the game is complete ass, shooter with locked 30 FPS, only two weapons that you designate before the mission that you do not know what weapons it will need, only 2 of the 4 classes are any good, it's extremely short, co-op breaks every time you sneeze and their DLC is some of the most blatant horse shit I ever did see.

But I got it for $10 and the insect part at least they got right, it's some great cheap fun.

Oh jeez, when I was a kid I loved most games no matter how terrible. I really hated Dirge of Cerberus.

Although, come to think of it, I never really got many bad games. The only ones that come to mind are those crappy Movie games. Even though I liked most games, I still hated movie games.

Two Worlds. Despite all its many issues (biggest of all being the constant frame-rate skips) the presentation has a strange charm to it, the combat can be fun in a brainless hack-and-slashy kind of way and the world is big and varied, to the point that exploration sort of becomes its own reward. There's just lots to see and do, and if only it didn't play like a laggy powerpoint presentation it could probably be called a pretty decent game.

Oddly enough, I actually had more fun with the original than I did its sequel. The combat engine was about as simple as it got but at least it worked and, while the acting is certainly bad in both, the first had a hammy, so-good-it's-bad appeal to it that the second game sorely lacks.

BIG RIGS and ACTION 52 are the best ones IMO.

BIG RIGS because of the gameplay, ACTION 52 because this rewiew is badass and its one of the few videos that made me laugh out loud:

Yes, its almost half an hour long, but I like how the guy rewieving this is pretty quiet and calm at the beggining and by the end he is a little more than annoyed (Still not to the extent of, say, AVGN, at all. But I like the progression).

Alpha protocol . Best bad game ever . Actually i wouldn't even call it bad , just highly flawed . Fun as hell though.

the AVGN review of that shit is also awesome

OT: um... don't think i have ever played a game so bad, that i could label it bad... the onlt thing that come s close will probably be "temple of elemental evil" which was mainly because of the bloody bugs, which are now fixed by numerous community patches

Well, at the time it was pretty awesome. But I'd suspect today's gamers wouldn't even know what to do with it...

That's right, it TALKS!

For me, Damnation...well, they got the concept of steam powered guns right, in that they'd be very loud and very ineffective. But god, I love how cheesy and just...poorly made the game is.

I'm kind of a 'sucker' for the Gundam games.

"MSG: Gundam vs Zeta Gundam" is the 'Madden' of the Gundam games.

It's basically 'MSG: Federation Vs Zion' but with a few new mecha and missions.

I guess it's not really 'terrible', but I ended up paying 40USD for it when I was younger.
So, yeah...

Mercenaries 2.

In many many respects, the game is complete ass, but somehow it is also some of the most fun I've ever had playing a game.

The whole game is pretty much storming into a nation locked in a sectarian conflict, bringing entirely unreasonable force down on anything that moves, and then stealing all the oil. It was the only thing that's ever given me any insight into how Republicans must feel.

[sub][sub]Yes, I went there. Come at me bro![/sub][/sub]

Final Fantasy X-2. I dunno, I guess I just like the idea of a game that plays like a badass version of dress-up with a story that reads like a Saturday Morning Cartoon (seriously--Tobli and that band could have been from ANY of the cartoons I grew up with, and I find that to be strangely awesome).

I gotta say most "Beat em ups" such as Dynasty/Samurai Warriors, Fist of the North Star or Warriors Orochi are my most played "Bad" games. However, my "Best of the Worst" award has to go to X-men: Destiny. I love that game despite the fact that it is so sub-par as far as enemies, levels and voice acting go, but there is just something so compelling about how it is structured that I can't stay mad at it.

I'm still waiting for the price to drop on it, after all, I may love the game but I know its not worth 39 bucks. :D

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos on PS1. It has wonderful music, a lively and engaging world...but the controls are ASS.
My heart, it's melting!

Dirge of Cerberus is awesome, and don't you let anyone tell you otherwise!

This too. It's all just good fun. All you have to do is pretend they're not a part of the canon, and everything is peachy.
